There are 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths and visitors are welcomed to the front door with lush lawns and beautiful landscaping. A sweeping back lawn leads to a lakeside dock with a ladder for lake swimming, mooring a boat or the beach and lounge chairs offer a perfect spot to enjoy the sunshine! There are 2 kayaks, 1 fishing kayak, 1 canoe and 3 paddleboards available for guest use or you may choose to bring your own boat to moor at the end of the dock, which can be accessed from the public boat launch across the lake. Step out onto the back patio complete with seating and dining area to dine outdoors while taking in gorgeous lake and mountain views displayed in front of you and then relax at the firepit surrounded by 10 chairs to do some stargazing at the end of your days. There were plenty of lake toys although the canoe was very tippy. It would have been nice to get the door code earlier as the cell phone service on my way there was spotty. Additionally, there is no way that eight people could stay here comfortably. The sleeping couch is the only couch and is located in the common area (i.e. there is no where to be if the couch is being used for sleeping). ##### Amanda K. The property is wonderful. We spent a lot of time in/on the water in the provided kayaks and SUPs. Nice general store 2 miles away in Black Brook. There are great views of the lake from the patio, yard, and living room. We were really pleased with the amount of seating inside and out. We’re a family of five aged 19 to 56\. We had plenty of space and we were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed the fire pit and using the canoe and kayaks. We would definitely love to visit again. ##### Stephanie H. It was very charming and modern. It was exactly like what was in the pictures. The property was immaculate. Everything was in predicting condition leaving you to want to leave it as such. Check in was very accommodating in letting us check in a bit early after a 5 hour drive. Engle & Volkers do an amazing job as the property managers. They had a goody bag waiting for us upon entry and called us mid stay to make sure everything was perfect, IT WAS. Will be looking to stay here again in the summer if we can find the availability! Overall, best rental I have stayed in the Adirondacks. 10/10. ##### Derek B. The cabin was so adorable and decorated perfectly. They included so many nice touches such as the blankets to use by the fire and the extra comforters in the closets for the cooler nights! The night we had a fire I saw more stars in the sky there than I have in my entire life. Kind of hurt my neck staring up so long but it was worth it and so amazing to be able to experience that! Even though it had a secluded feel, it was close to many places. We hiked Whiteface Mountain and visited downtown Lake Placid. We were so sad to leave and wished we would have booked for longer. Would love to visit again someday. Don’t hesitate to book this place and add an extra day if you can, you won’t be disappointed! ##### Genet S. It's a beautiful, well-appointed lakefront property that hit on our desire for a peaceful, beautiful getaway. We will strongly consider a return stay here. Pros: --We enjoyed our meals and relaxing on the patio, looking out on the lake; sitting by the fire pit each night; watching the loons, ducks, bald eagles,; fishing from the dock, etc. --Very comfortable, clean, and stylish accommodations --Washer & Dryer; comfortable beds; anything you might need for home cooking is included in the kitchen --Property is a quick drive the town center of Ausable, making it easy to run out to the market to pick up any supplies you might need Cons: --Shower head is less than optimal; no shelf or anywhere in/around the shower to place anything (soap, shampoo, etc.) --The gas grill is functional, but is in need of new burner covers (rusted/disintegrating) and grill grates; location of the grill is on the side of the cottage away from the patio and front door, making it a bit of a chore to mind what you're cooking while doing other things --The firewood provided isn't covered, so even occasional rain showers dampened the wood to the point that it wasn't ideal for getting a camp fire going; we purchased seasoned camp wood nearby --Not sure if it's intentional, but there was a meager supply of paper napkins and no paper towels in the cottage ##### Joe M. We went to fern lake for a wedding and fell in love with this lake house! The house was immaculate and had every amenity you would need or want when renting a house.
