Take the short walk to the New Museum of Acropolis and the Parthenon; walk below the Hadrian's Arch and discover the countless cafes and restaurants in the buzzing neighborhood of Plaka right around your corner. This is a very central, easy-to-access location. Nearest Underground station Acropoli (4 min walk - 300m). THE SPACE This newly renovated, fully furnished apartment features two bedrooms with a queen bed in each one, a spacious and cozy living room with a sofa bed, a dining area, a brand new bathroom, and a fully-equipped kitchen. The apartment can accommodate comfortably up to 4 persons and 1 more on the sofa bed. Update January 2017: Windows have been replaced with new soundproofed. THE NEIGHBORHOOD Plaka is the old historical neighborhood of Athens, clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis, and incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture. It is located between Syntagma and Monastiraki square. Adrianou Street (running north and south) is the largest and most central street in Plaka. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops in the neighborhood. Nearby is Ermou street (15 min walk), which is the main shopping street of Athens. Numerous of major Athens sights can be found In the neighborhood. Just in front of the building is the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Museums include the new Acropolis Museum (4-minute walk from the apartment), the new Jewish Museum of Greece (10 min walk), the Museum of Greek Folk Art (10 min walk), an annex of which is the Old Public Baths building, the Frissiras Museum, the Museum of Popular Music Instruments, the Museum of Pavlos and Alexandra Kanellopoulou and the Athens University Museum (12 min walk). Nearby is Adrianou Street which may be the oldest street in Athens still in continuous use with exactly the same layout since antiquity, that leads to the Roman Agora - Roman Forum (15 min walk) and to Thiseio. Also, Acropolis entrance is a 10 min walk from the apartment. Other remarkable sights nearby are Herodes Atticus Theatre, the Pnyx Hill, and the picturesque neighborhood with the greek island-like houses, Anafiotika. Aside from sightseeing, note that the apartment is also located very close to the shopping center of the city, Ermou Street, and the neighborhood is full of nice restaurants and bars. The flat is perfect for four and has everything you need to make a great Athens get away. It is within view and walking distance of anything that historic Athens has to offer (Temples, Acropolis, Museums, etc). Well furnished, great air conditioning and access to a washer/dryer as well. The wrap around balcony offers a nice view and sense of the area with great food nearby. The lock box is a little unusual as it is on a nearby fence, but once we figured that out everything was great. Apartment was clean and very comfortable. We were also extremely impressed with how quiet the unit was, even during heavy traffic times. Deck had a table and chairs for sitting outside and people watching. Check in process was easy, and the owners checked in with us via email to make sure that everything was OK. They recommended Welcome Pickups as a transfer from the airport to the unit. We did this and was so pleased with the service we used them for all transfers during our Greece stay. ##### Lisa M. Beds were clean and comfortable. Place was clean and then there was the kitchen. That is the only part of the house that was neglected. It was not very clean and was not very well appointed. We to wash things before we used them. Yuk. If you have no interest in the kitchen, this would be perfect. Location. It is above a very busy street and a quiet drink on the balcony is not an option. The wraparound patio is over busy street, but the light coming in through THREE sets of balcony doors is stunning throughout the day. Washer is in bathroom - clothes did need to be hung to finish drying. WiFi probably not enough for a zoom call, barely managed streaming but sufficient for our needs. I’d be reluctant to bring noisy kids - plenty of room but building is not really sound proofed at all. Nespresso machine available - I needed to pick up pods. Olive oil and basic seasonings, tea, sugar stocked. Very nice shower, utilitarian furniture, comfy bed and pillows. I also texted the emergency number without answer. We ended up having to get rooms at the hotel across the street for the first night. On day 3, we were awakened with drilling/construction that was very loud in an adjacent apartment. This went on for hours. Communication seemed to be the biggest issue, even after checking out. We inadvertently left an item inside that goes with an expensive hearing device. We were told the hours we could pick it up, and informed them we would be on a cruise for a week and pick it up when we get back. Upon our return, they told us they hadn’t yet received the item from the cleaning crew. Our family of five stayed for 3 days and couldn’t be more central to Acropolis, Plaka, etc. easy access to groceries and restaurants. Hosts were very helpful with info on airport transfers, checking to make sure we got in ok, etc. Place had everything we needed, good space for five, nice living room area. Great little wrap-around balcony, easy walk to the Acropolis, really comfortable beds, and a washer/dryer in the unit. The kitchen isn’t designed to accommodate large meals but perfect for what we needed. ##### Cori P. Jun 26, 2018 #### AMAZING VIEW!! This was a lovely apartment with a STUNNING view of the Temple of Zeus. I couldn't stop looking at it when I was there. The picture of the view does not do it justice. The owner needs to take a better photo so people can see the view that it really offers. It also has a cute little balcony to look at the view. Just wish it had a little table and chairs so we could eat breakfast and drink coffee out there. The bed is cozy and comfortable. It is in walking distance of most attractions, Plaka and the metro. We actually walked to all the sites and only took a taxi back once because we had wandered so far. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen offer everything you need and more.
