This is the third spacious apartment at the A.U.R.A. complex (totally refurbished in 2021), a privately owned and managed property building, in the most convenient, quiet and beautiful Athenian neighborhood named Thission, right in the Athens historical center. A most convenient and stylish apartment perfectly suitable for families, friends or colleagues. As the property owner, I have been the physical host, responsible for the accommodation and welcoming of visitors since 2014 in other apartments of the same building. My effort consists of giving emphasis to detail and making guests actually feel they are being personally taken care of. Kindly refer to my profile's reviews, and visit the other three apartments found in the same building, to acquire a better understanding of the property and host. These are the Elegant 5bm-5ba Apt/Acropolis View/Ideal Location, the Penthouse/Heated Pool/Acropolis View/Ideal Location and our newest creation, the Gracious Accessible 4Bd/5Ba Apartment in Ideal Location (rented as one or 2 smaller units). A.U.R.A. (Acropolis Unique Residence Apartments) is a privately-owned apartment building which is composed of four large apartments for short term rentals including this one, the host’s reception office at the ground floor and home on the top floors (former small rentals). Unlike most of the newest constructions in Athens, for the entire building we have invested in renewable resources; solar energy, geothermal energy, recently replaced by heat pumps. Our aim is to guarantee an absolute heating and cooling effect with full autonomy, through an under-floor system (for long-term stays) and fan coils in all rooms, plus hot running water at all hours, and the heating of the swimming pool during the winter season (for guests at the A.U.R.A. Penthouse). Visitors’ comments for the A.U.R.A. properties primarily focus on three major advantages: Quality accommodation, ideal location and a hospitable host/owner. What follows explains why. A few words about the apartment: The A.U.R.A. Stylish apartment is situated on the 2d floor, served by an elevator. There are 5 comfortable bedrooms and 5 bathrooms of which 4 en suite with 1 bathtub and 4 showers. All bedrooms are flexible in terms of bed configuration with king size or single beds. Additionally, three of the bedrooms fit an additional single bed, thus, excluding sofas. Therefore, the maximum capacity is 13 guests. The kitchen area is convenient for home made preparations to enjoy a nice meal at the large dining table found at the sun bathing patio. The patio’s large windows and curtains which make up a beautiful theatrical scene, offer a beautiful view to the Acropolis at the end of a cute tree-lined pedestrian street (when trees allow) and to the neighborhood’s quiet life. The patio is particularly inviting as a relaxing lounge area with a comfy sofa and pouffes. All areas offer separate A/C and the apartment is quite spacious, extending to 200 sq.m. offering autonomy and privacy which are so precious even among the closest group members sharing an apartment while traveling. Other things to note: • To further complement our guests’ comfort we have created a privately owned and secure storage facility just across our building’s entrance. No need to worry about early arrivals into Athens or late departures as it may be accessed by code. • Parking offered in the premises, free of charge upon request and based on availability. • Security doors and a security code for the main entrance offer peace of mind to guests who may feel insecure while traveling. • Quiet hours prevail in Greece by law are between 14:30-17:30 and 22:00-07:30 which all citizens need to respect. By booking this property guests are confirming that they are aware of the house rules and agree to respect them. • Guests should be informed that the initial rate is for up to 6 guests. For more than 6 guests: Automatic 50€ extra charge per guest per night. This policy was judged as being to the advantage of smaller and larger groups. Prospective guests are requested to include the final number of guests in their inquiry. New taxes were introduced in Greece recently, for all reservations made after 01.01.2024\. As a result the total booking price is affected. Réunis à 8 en famille, venus de Nice, de Dubai, du Brésil , d'Amorgos et de Genève, nous avons adoré l'amplitude de cet appartement et ses vastes zones de vie et/ou de repos. Son équipement très complet a permis aux séniors moins mobiles (>80 ans) de cuisiner les salades pour se retrouver tous autour de la grande table. Located in a peaceful neighborhood right under the Acropolis, it was the perfect blend of quiet comfort and unbeatable location. There was plenty of space for all of us without feeling cramped. The enclosed atrium was our favorite spot to gather, fully stocked and ready for morning coffee, a beautiful view over the cobblestone street below. We could walk to the charming Plaka area in minutes, with endless shops, cafés, restaurants, and bakeries at our doorstep. The apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was the perfect base for exploring Athens. Our host Marianne went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. She was kind enough to meet us at the apt at midnight after our flight from Frankfurt was delayed by 5 hours. She had directions with a map and suggestions for anything we could want all ready for us. The 5 bedrooms were well-equipped and comfortable and accommodated our family of 7 people well. We were met by Marianne and Eva who were wonderful hosts! They arranged transports to and from the airport for us and helped immensely when one family member left jewelry at the apartment. The apartment has a view of the Parthenon if the trees are not yet leafed, but is a very easy walk from everything you need in Athens. Restaurants are everywhere nearby, as is public transportation. The location was ideal, close to everything we wanted to see and yet still tucked away in a safe, quaint walkable neighborhood. Marianne is truly an amazing host, very responsive and helpful, both prior to our trip and during. Upon arrival Eva gave us a very thorough orientation to the apartment and neighborhood. Both Marianne and Eva provided great recommendations for local restaurants, bakeries, and sights. The welcome cookies were a big hit! I would highly recommend staying here when in Athens. I have absolutely nothing to complain about. What an amazing place right in the heart of Athens! Everything was walkable - the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora, Plaka, the Monastraki Market, etc. The neighborhood was so safe, and there were restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops right out the front door. And the views of the Acropolis at night were stunning, just 2 blocks up the street from the apartment. The hosts and property managers were equally amazing, with plenty of recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The home had 5 bedrooms, each with king-sized beds and 5 bathrooms, so my wife and all 4 kids (3 of them teenagers) each had there own space. This home was an amazing find and the absolute perfect home base for our time in Athens. I travel a lot for work and have top tier status with all the top 3 hotel chains. I have certainly stayed at my fair share of really nice places. Hands down, this was the absolute best rental property I've ever stayed in! The one and only drawback is that my kids have now reached a whole new level of spoiled! ##### Nate H. The neighborhood is quiet during the day, lively at night but not to the point where you will be disturbed in the slightest. We stayed in Athens to show our friends and family the sites before heading to Rhodes for the rest of our vacation! This place was spectacular. It was beautiful, had plenty of room for our party of 11 people. Marianne our host was amazing and gracious. My niece’s 8th birthday was on Saturday during our stay and I had asked Marianne where I could get a cake and she arranged it all for us including delivery. The place was walkable to all the sites. She was very responsive and helpful. She helped us arrange transportation to and from the apartment with great drivers. The apartment is spacious with plenty of room for everyone, has all the basics you need and multiple bathrooms. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the people go by. The elevator is also a plus for your luggage and when you are traveling with older family members. The location is close to the grocery, cafes, bakeries, wine shops, bookstores, pharmacy and restaurants. If you have a chance be sure to go to Merceri across the street. The food, service and experience are worth it. We walked to all the sites from the apartment and to the metro. It is close to everything you need. We were a group of six adults. The apartment is not just spacious, it is exceptionally well laid out to give everyone privacy and quiet. It's clean, bright, nicely furnished, and amply equipped. It was very comfortable and very secure, an important factor when staying in a foreign city. The location -- both the immediate neighborhood and the overall location in Athens -- is perfect. The owner, Marianne, and her assistant, Eva, made clear to us at all times that they would give us assistance with anything we needed. One quibble with the listing -- there isn't an "Acropolis View" from the apartment. If not for the trees along the street, one could see a bit of the Acropolis from the terrace, but in fact only a tiny glimpse is visible when it's lighted at night. Nonetheless, it is very close to the Acropolis -- we were able to walk to the edge of the Acropolis site in just a few minutes. If we ever return to Athens, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. ##### Erin W. Marianne and her team were so very helpful. Be sure to take them up on their offer of transport booking from the airport to the property - seamless and best price! Our 5-bedroom apartment was exactly as represented in VRBO. The water pressure in the shower was the best ever (and my husband travels allot, so it is hard to impress him!). Marianne was gracious, helpful, had the most amazing chocolate cake here for my son’s 17th birthday. The Dimou Bakery around the corner is a “must do” for delicious pastries and chocolate mousse birthday cakes. The apartment was in walking distance to all of the major archeological sites, lovely restaurants and cafes, and Marianne accommodated our early arrival and storing of our luggage. We just wrapped up an amazing Athens and Greek Islands trip with our 3 adult sons and their significant others. This beautiful flat was absolutely perfect. Each bedroom was beautiful and spacious with a separate bathroom in each. The kitchen was well appointed and the indoor/outdoor patio with coffee bar was the best. We enjoyed waking up each morning to our coffee and the sounds of the city coming alive. You could not ask for a better location to stay while in Athens, just outside of the main traffic on a street lined with wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and local markets, with everything a short walk away. Marianne is the most wonderful, caring and informative host, and she will make sure that your check in and check out is absolutely seamless. Take her up on the suggestion to have an arranged pickup at the airport upon arrival. It is a wonderful way to begin a trip that you will remember for a lifetime! Thank you for everything Marianne.
