I was able to relax while looking out over the Nile. The exterior and interior of the room were very cute and stylish. I felt that it was run by someone with artistic taste. There isn't much information about the hotel, but the food was plentiful and all very delicious. I am very grateful for the wonderful response of the staff when I fell ill. Also, the Egyptian music played by the staff after the meal was wonderful, and it was the best memory of this trip. We NEVER did check-in in the Fenti Nubian because we had to leave about 10:30AM, no check-in time yet. Therefore, we neither did not make a check-out. I talked to the manager Sarah and let her know to consider our reservation like a NO SHOW, and receive the payment from Expedia for a no show situation, because was our fault to leave and change plan. The attention from her and the staff was excellent, and the hotel conditions were very good. It was simply a change of plan from us, no hotel’s fault. Again, we never were officially like guests at the Fenti Nubian Hotel. This is a really great SMALL resort. They serve breakfast, they have a lovely restaurant with great food for lunch/dinner, and they will pick you up at the airport if you set it up beforehand. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they made me a packed breakfast and lunch for my Abu Simbel excursion. I do think they could make life easier by writing up a short hotel guide, with information about services offered and handy tips. Also this is not the most convenient area to stay in Aswan (it can be hard to get drivers to pick you up), and there isn't much outside of the resort area. The property was not at all as advertised—photos online are highly misleading. The bathroom lacked ventilation, with dirty walls and floors, and I was disturbed to find bloodstains on the shower curtain. The mattress was stained with what appeared to be paint, and both the mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The location was also problematic. Loud barking from stray dogs continued through the night, along with noise from a nearby mosque and loud music from the on-site restaurant. Sleep was nearly impossible. Service was poor and unprofessional. There was no staff at the front desk from 11 PM to 9 AM, and most of the team spoke only Arabic, with the exception of the receptionist. Hygiene standards were very low—staff appeared unclean and had a noticeable odor. There was no phone in the room, so any request had to be made in person at the reception. Despite all these issues, the resort refused to refund my remaining three nights, which I had booked through Expedia.
