The Space:  
Mayfield House offers comfortable and well-equipped living spaces, perfect for a relaxing stay. The property features a fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher, making it easy to prepare meals. The open-plan dining and sitting areas provide a cosy space to unwind, with a Smart TV for entertainment and a woodburning stove for added warmth. There are three bedrooms: a king-size, a twin, and a single, all serviced by a modern bathroom. Outside, you'll find convenient parking as well as a private garden with a patio, garden furniture, and a lawned area, ideal for enjoying the fresh air. Mayfield House combines comfort, style, and practicality for a delightful stay.

Ashbourne, a picturesque market town in Derbyshire, is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Peak District." With its charming, cobbled streets, historic buildings, and vibrant market square, it exudes a timeless appeal. Highlights include the impressive St. Oswald’s Church with its soaring spire and the elegant Georgian architecture scattered throughout the town. Independent shops, antique stores, and inviting tearooms line the streets, making it a delight to explore.  
  
Surrounded by stunning countryside, Ashbourne is a perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts. The nearby Peak District National Park offers breath-taking scenery, with iconic landmarks such as Dovedale and its famous stepping stones just a short distance away. Walking and cycling routes abound, including the popular Tissington Trail, which begins on the edge of town and winds through picturesque villages and rolling hills.  
  
The town is also known for its vibrant traditions, particularly the annual Royal Shrovetide Football game, a unique and historic event that draws visitors from far and wide. Although there is no direct train station, nearby Derby offers connections to the national rail network, with buses running regularly from there to Ashbourne. #### Lovely Stay

Nice accommodation near Alton Towers. Few little issues like no coffee and salt and could have been cleaner inside the kitchen cupboards and lounge light shades. But comfy beds and clean bathroom etc. Would come back. Nice stay. Communication with host was excellent.

#### Gateway to the Peak District

Great location, very easy walking distance to the pretty town centre of Ashbourne which has fantastic restaurants and bars. A short drive to Dovedale and beautiful walks. Lovely red brick house, with 3 bedrooms, a cosy living room, dining room kitchen and garden- great for friends or a small family.Mattresses, pillows and bedding ok, could have been a little better quality, and it would have been good to have better quality curtains. Sofas in the lounge were purposeful, but could have been comfier, as really made the lovely living area even cosier. Worked well for us for the two nights we stayed
