It’s a wonderful place to sit and watch the traffic go by. This one is six barges long by three wide making his way upriver, empty. ( the average barge is 200 feet long by 35 wide making this one 1200 feet long by 105 feet wide, minus the ‘pusher boat’. Which makes it bigger then the ore ships we saw earlier this year on the Great Lakes ) Capacity when full is 1,530 tons, each!
