After a day of adventure, return to a charming cottage that blends the feel of a restored farmhouse with tasteful modern and vintage décor. Wide-plank faux wood floors enhance the cozy, country ambiance throughout the space. Stock up on local favorites at the Arcata Farmers’ Market or nearby gourmet and organic grocers, including Wildberries and the Co-Op, and prepare meals in the fully stocked kitchen featuring a gas stove. Prefer to dine outdoors? Fire up the propane BBQ and enjoy an al fresco meal on the patio. While there is no dishwasher, ample dishware and glassware are provided for your convenience. The cottage offers comfortable new queen beds with high-quality bedding for a restful night’s sleep. After hiking the nearby Arcata Community Forest, refresh in the spacious walk-in shower, then unwind on the sectional sofa and enjoy a movie on the Smart TV with over 200 channels. We wanted to stay somewhere central during our road trip to the Redwoods. Arcata was perfect as the Humboldt Redwood State Park (Avenue of the Giants) is to the south and the Redwood National Park (Trees of Mystery) is to the north. Jane's Cottage jumped out at us with its quaint and classic decor. What a fantastic location! Arriving right before dark, it was easy to find (excellent directions and access instructions were provided by the host) and we were delighted with this wonderfully appointed home. It is exactly as described with extra touches throughout to make it exceptional. As frequent travelers, we notice things like good toilet paper, nice tissues, high quality sheets, bedding and comfortable mattresses, lots of blankets, bath towels and extra pillows. The kitchen was well-stocked and the house simply had everything we needed to snuggle in after a long day. It was close to the 101 highway and to the college with a privacy we adored. It was a little cold so we didn't get to sit on the back porch or in the courtyard, but what nice amenities to offer guests. We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to avoid hotel hassles in a home away from your own. ##### Angela G. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend, exploring the redwoods, taking advantage of your local beaches, and spending time in Arcata. The house was comfortable and homey. ##### Robert S. Very comfortable and quiet - I couldn’t hear my friend when she was in her room or other parts of the house. Some reviews mention freeway noise, and you can hear it, but it’s more like white noise and didn’t bother us at all. Location is close to everything. With access to the 101 it was an easy trip both North and South - and we explored both.We used a laptop for Netflix and Prime. The cord to hook up to the TV was already there.Plenty of room in the well equipped kitchen. We found everything we needed. You will need to bring your own coffee and bag of ice. The laundry room was well stocked.In short, no hassle and we LOVED it! ##### Patricia V. My daughter and I were in town for a few days looking into Humboldt for the Fall semester. The location is about a 13 minute, nice walk to the university. The cottage is fully equipped and very comfortable. Decorated nicely and very clean. Hope was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend this property. ##### Melinda O. I stayed here with my husband and mother-in-law for my son’s graduation. We were all very impressed! It was well organized and taken care of. The beds were super comfortable.
