"We would not recommend this house at all. It’s actually two separate areas and not connected. When we first arrived we went into front apartment and discovered where was no AC in living area /kitchen and was so hot at 9pm when we arrived we could not sit in there. There were no instructions at house, so we wrote the owner on how to turn on the jacuzzi outside but that was when he told us it didn’t heat. "We loved our stay at the Blue Elephant. The property itself is lovely, with a lovely pool that has a gorgeous view, the rooms are spacious with everything you need. We had a shared plunge pool and loved it. We never saw our neighbours who we shared it with. The staff were also fantastic, with a special shout out Kostas and Emiliano at the pool restaurant and bar area. Penny at reception was also very helpful. Everyone we encountered was friendly and lovely. There were only a few things on the very small con list and that is while the breakfast buffet was lovely, it was exactly the same everyday, no variarion at all and the milk area was kept out in a fairly warmish area - if they'd put the milk in ice that would be great! But honestly, those were small things. The town of Almyrida is lovely, with everything in walking distance. Lots of great restaurants with friendly and lovely employees. Just note that if you have a mobility impairment there is a fairly steep hill from the main drag to the hotel. It would not be an easy walk to get up. We will definitely be back, it's one of the loveliest hotels we've stayed at."

"Modern premises and tasteful décor. Our room was super comfortable and controls are hi tech, from curtains, to lights. The beach is excellent for swimming and walking, and the view of the mountains is breathtaking. We had a blast in this hotel. I want to come back for a longer stay."

"The hotel is perfect for a beachy, chilled holiday if that’s what you enjoy. The small town has some shops etc which is good and Chania is only a 30 minute drive away along with Souda which are beautiful towns. Especially the Chania markets! A must go to if you love a bargain! The hotel could be somewhat more clear on what is included etc. The hotel is amazing so don’t let that put you off but we were told the tourist charge was €10 euro per room, per night, which is correct but we were also charged extra and we’re unsure really what that was for. Also we have been twice to this hotel, the first time when booking we had the option available to go all inclusive plus but the second time that option wasn’t available until we arrived at the hotel and it was quite steep compared to the first time we visited the hotel and with not much difference to the basic all inclusive package. After all a gin and tonic is a gin and tonic be that from the local gin or branded big name gin. Overall though, lovely place to stay and the staff are amazing! So helpful and super polite! Will absolutely be back again! "

"The colleagues at this property and the sister hotel were amazing. Friendly and efficient. Great clean rooms. Autograph restaurant and buffet very good. Lovely walks along beach and easy to use public transport options. Good challenging walks from resort. End of season and all hotels and most bars starting to close."

First family fun experience in Crete

"Our stay at Mythos Palace Resort was delightful. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive, especially Andreas at the bar and Arystea at guest services. They ensured we were well cared for throughout our visit. The evening entertainment was fantastic, featuring acts like La Divas and Cuba Fun, along with a fun mini disco. Despite some unpredictable morning sun, the resort offered plenty of activities, including a spa, massage services, and both indoor and outdoor pools. Our spacious room included a private pool. The bar and restaurant provided diverse cuisine with themed dinners such as BBQ, seafood, Greek, and Mexican. "
