This home is the perfect retreat to truly escape from it all and focus on only relaxing–you will not have access to WiFi or cable, which means you won't have to worry about work calls or emails during your stay. (Although, if you need it, Smart Phones with WiFi hotspots often effectively stream here, and there are DVDs on hand.) The views from this darling home are out of this world. You'll get the chance to admire views of local wildlife (herons, eagles, seals, cormorants, and whales), everything from small boats to large barges. The sunsets over the Olympic mountains are spectacular. The wraparound deck lets you see the sunrise on the east side with your breakfast or morning coffee and sunset on the west with dinner. The large wraparound deck is the perfect place for endless outdoor fun with two outdoor dining areas, a gas grill, unparalleled water views, and plenty of seating throughout. Host memorable barbecues, snuggle up on the swing and read a good book, or work on your tan from one of the many available beach chairs. A few short steps to the beach will lead you to prime beachcombing or a kayak adventure along the coast or over to Eagle Island. The main living space is on the first floor, where the open floor plan seamlessly combines the kitchen, living room, and dining area. The living room is another excellent place to unwind with your loved ones - featuring a central pellet stove, comfortable furniture, and a flatscreen TV. You're definitely in for a good and cozy time. There's even a telescope pointing towards the water in case you'd like to admire it from a whole different point of view. The brand-new open kitchen is well equipped with modern stainless steel appliances, including a full-size fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and even a Keurig coffee maker. This level also boasts the primary bedroom with direct access to the deck, a full bath with a walk-in shower, and a small laundry nook with a washer/dryer. Things to Know Dear guest, please note that the available twin beds are actually cots. No WiFi and no cable available. However, most cell providers have good coverage here. Please note that this home is built on pilings, so the beach only has access at low tide; otherwise, the water goes under the house. Please be aware that the currents in the passage can be very strong; plan any boating activities accordingly. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) More amenities than what the list included (hairdryer was available, good amount of dishes and cookware). May want bottled water to drink over the tap water. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal and there was plenty of Towels in the bathroom. You will need to read the welcome book for tips on some of the things at the house. The views are epic. I didn’t want to leave. Very well appointed. Adorable kitchen stocked with everything you need. Awesome decks. Heated bathroom floors. Watch seals all day long. The island does only offer one restaurant- so bring your supplies or shop at the local well stocked small grocery. I hope to return to this really lovely home. Pretty sure it is the only one on the island that sits so close on top is the water - and yes - as another reviewer notes you could be surrounded by water in no time at the change of the tide. Such a private location. My friend and I paddleboarded the beaches surrounding this property and property and it was awesome. It is decorated to perfection and amazingly comfortable. So fun and relaxing to watch the seals and calm waters in the morning around the house and wildlife activity around Eagle Island Marine State Park just across bay. The house kitchen is newly remodeled and well equipped with nice bathroom and bedroom on the main floor. The upstairs beds are low but comfortable enough for sleeping. Sunsets are beautiful! At high tide the water flows right underneath you and at low tide plenty of beach combing awaits. We spent hours on end just watching the marine life around us, most notably all the seals that are either playing in the water or snoozing on the shores of Eagle Island. A couple of things I’d like done to make it better: a Blu-ray player, not just a DVD player. We brought videos to watch but couldn’t watch several of them because they were Blu-ray. And it would be nice if there was a fan for the bedroom. It got kind of hot in there and didn’t feel comfortable leaving the sliding door open. But other then that, it was perfect. Oct 4, 2021 #### Beautiful view but house not clean This is a beach house that is fairly well-appointed. The view is gorgeous, very quiet except for occasional noise from neighbors. Now the bad part: the house was not clean. We arrived late at 10pm due to ferry traffic, and were hoping to cook something quickly and go to sleep. However, all the flatware and dishes were dirty, some encrusted with food. We had to wash everything before cooking. The stove top was grimy, toilet paper rolls stained with dirt, toilet stained brown (we hoped from sitting water during periods of no occupation), and the coffee pot had old grounds in it with mold growing on top. In many years of vacation rentals, we've never experienced anything like this level of unsanitary preparation, and in the time of Covid, we were left to wonder about everything else. It was also discouraging that no lights were left on by the front door, so we had to get a flashlight from our car to see how to get in, and there were no obvious instructions for operating the heat or remote controlled lighting. The master bedroom had minimal coverings and no extra blankets, and we were disturbed at night by a loud water filtration system becoming active at 1:00 in the morning. Once we cleaned, explored, and played with the systems for a while we were okay, but while the view was lovely, we won't be returning. Our contact person offered to come the next day to clean and to refund the cleaning charge, but frankly, we thought the response inadequate. We tried further contact as we kept finding more issues, but were met with silence.
