"Really lovely cottage in the middle of Ambleside. Parking is off-site about 5 minutes away from the property up a very steep hill which wasn’t made explicitly clear so bare that in mind. There is nowhere to quickly park your car to unload bags or collect the resident’s parking permit so you have to pay for parking first. The showers were nice but honestly quite dirty with lots of black marks (possibly mould) on the shower head and the silicone which put us off using one of them. Besides that...

"Hi, hope this helps, we found the cottage’s location is great having never been in a town one before. Great to have all the amenities to hand, we thought it had everything that one needs, just a little tired looking. Our main criticism was the lack of outdoor space for the dog, and as one of the cottage’s plus says it’s pet friendly, it is NOT. We would have considered the cottage again but only if we don’t have a dog, the likelihood of that happening is pretty slim."

"A beautiful country inn, we booked to break up a journey south and it was so much nicer than a generic motorway hotel. The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast. The staff could not have been any nicer, everyone we came into contact with was super friendly. It’s a very old building, and quite higgldy piggldy (low beans, some steep stairs) but the rooms are lovely and the bathrooms obviously recently replaced. Our only negative at all would be that the shower is a lovely big cubicle but the opening to get into the shower is very narrow. It was an inconvenience not a problem. We would absolutely stay here again."
