Best stay in Bentota

It was such a wonderful stay at this newly furnished and clean accomodation. I never experiences such good service from any hotel manager or staff ever before, I wish we had the chance to stay longer.

Hotel almost on the river

Our stay at the Grand Lotus was perfect, the manager is such a nice person. The service is excellent, can’t be better! I would love to come back and meet the people that work there. And to have the breakfast 2 meter from the river is also fantastic!!

This property is fantastic and the staff super friendly and helpful. It was clean and very stylish, the location second to none. We would definitely come back!!(Unusually there was no hairdryer, shower gel or coat hangers available, or bedmaking. We didn't need them so it didn't matter to us!)

It is a private villa. It is well kept and has a private pool. Rooms are big and clean. Food options are very limited. They serve only omelette bread jam and sausages. They do not provide lunch or dinner. Nearby options for food are good. They do not have any parking space. Serene calm place

A lovely genuine boutique hotel with great service

A lovel "boutique" hotel on the banks of the river and minutes from the sea. Full of character, with a veranda where you can have breakfast overlooking the water and a small infiniti pool shaded by a tree. Nothing was too much trouble for the manager - tables at local restaurant, boats to transport you the short distance to the sea. Great if you are looking for an alternative to the large corporate "all you can eat" resorts in the area.

Fled to another hotel

Real bad hotel, we went to another hotel nearby in the middle of the night, since there seem to be bed bugs. The sheets had blood stains and you could see excretions. The bathroom had a lot of mold. No apologies at all from the staff, which was only one employee for the entire hotel.

Good value small new hotel on Bentota river

This is a new hotel so I hesitated booking as I could not see many genuine reviews. I was pleased with my stay, It is very good value currently I only paid $35 per night including breakfast. The pool is small but pretty with a tree in the centre. The views are of the river and there is a lovely deck to sit on and watch the river activities. There is no restaurant or bar they only provide breakfast but there are lots of places a short ride or walk away. The breakfast is really nice with freshly cut fruit and freshly cooked eggs - plus toast butter and jam. The Manager is charming and keen to help. My room needed a bedside lamp but I am assured that is being added soon. Please note that the hotel is on the river not the beach but the beach is a short Tuktuk journey away.

Mycket trevligt läge och killen som jobbade där var trevlig och hjälpsam. Duschen var ingen höjdare. Det fanns inget duschutrymme så allt i badrummet blev dygnsurt.

Letar man efter ett budget hotell så är detta absolut ett bra alternativ. Ligger väldigt off från stranden och bra restauranger, vårt rum läckte in vatten då det var massvis av regn ena dagen vilket gjorde att vi inte ville bo kvar. Super trevlig personal som anstränger sig och en helt Okaj frukost. MIN rekommendation om ni ska till sri lanka- skippa åka till bentota överhuvudtaget- fokusera på lite större städer med större utbud. Rekommendation är hikkaduwa, weligama- Mirissa.
