On the left the Kogel (2.318 m) and to the right the green meadows of Taja Spítze (2.352 m). In the background in middle there are the Allgaeuer Alps behind the Lech river valley (= Lechtal). This is the route from Gramais village (1.437 m) to Hanauer Huette over Kogelseescharte saddle. My daughter and I spent three days in St. Anton, and this was a great base for our visit. It's right in the middle of the town - a short walk to the base of the ski lift, short walk to the restaurants, shops, train station, Christmas market, etc. The owner is so gracious, friendly, and helpful. The room was super comfortable, bigger than I expected, and the included breakfast was great - very typical ski chalet choices. We did not have a car and did not need one - you can take a bus or even ski to nearby villages if you want to explore. (FYI for skiers - in December, there is already snow and many of the slopes are open, but waiting until January would be better.)
