In anticipation of my trip, I reached out to host to ask for check in procedure advised by VRBO, to be told bluntly that it would be sent on the day. Still not received on the day, messaged again, told it would be sent sometime that day. Arrived at property and waited outside as no code, received after a further phone call. Honestly felt the Garden area, was in need of a clean, large ‘day bed’ was dirty and well worn. Patio area not used as a result.House itself was nice, small but had everything including Nespresso machine with some pods. Bathroom is tired and some mould, with slow draining plug which filled within minutes.Overall left disappointment, as Communications with host could easily have been better, nice secluded location, but I felt let down. ##### Eloise T. The Gate House is exactly as described. The property is small but very well appointed (in fact, it felt the perfect size). The host was quick to respond to queries and both thoughtful and detailed in replies. The views of the surrounding landscape are beautiful. The hot tub is nice. The main drive for Hetton Hall is nearby but that wasn’t an issue. We enjoyed a few nights of relaxing time in this excellent property. If you’re considering booking the Gate House, we heartily recommend it.
