We found the house to be so comfortable and cheerful - even a rainy day was bright due to the skylights and many windows. The house had everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen, a work desk, and full-sized laundry. Everything was very clean, the water pressure was excellent in the shower, and the beds were very comfortable. The piece de resistance of the house is the garden. Boy oh boy, we spent a lot of our time just sitting in the chairs on the back patio, sipping iced beverages, and watching the bees dancing from flower to flower. At night the garden turns mysterious and alluring, and is the perfect way to ease down, relax, and cap off a day of hiking or museum hopping. The neighborhood is great and there is a wonderful cafe (Flying Star) a short walk away with a fantastic bookstore (Bookworks) right next door. The house was very convenient to I-40 and the airport and a short jaunt to Old Town. What an awesome place Casa La Huerta is !. The weather was super windy and colder than we had hoped, so we didn't get to sit outside as much as we had hoped, but it just made us appreciate it even more when we got perfect weather the day before we had to leave. Inside, everything was perfect, very clean, great towels and sheets, even provided plush blankets, and everything you could wish for in the kitchen. We will be back as often as we can to see the awesome landscaping in the Spring and early summer. We loved being 20-30 minutes away from the fiesta and 15 minutes from downtown/the zoo/breweries/the petroglyph national park.
