When we got to the house, the temperature was 90 plus inside. The change the temperature setting and the house cooled down. We went hiking in the park the next day and when we came home the temperature was again in the 80s. We message the owner and he changed the automatic settings that changed the temperature. Host was responsive when I had questions. A few downsides.. the furniture and other house items seemed cheap.. also the property is shared with not only another rental but I think the house next to us. I knew it wouldn’t be private but hoped my dog could at least have an open space. I was later told my dog had to be on a leash at all times outside. I was also told that because a dog wasn’t on the reservation, that those details are usually shared only if a dog is staying. I think those details should be in the listing/house rules.. otherwise I wouldn’t have even booked this place. I actually just decided not to use the gazebo at all which sucked cos I was most looking forward to it. A lot of things wobbled and things that were supposed to be attached seem to fall off due to wear and tear or screws not placed correctly..My wife is pregnant with twins so things being wobbly were a little worrisome.. a hazard even.. but I didn’t want to tell the host to fix it during such a short stay and have someone invade our space.1\. Cubed shelf behind couch was not stable, would wobble2\. Bunkbed was very wobbly3\. Gold side table next to bed was wobbly5\. It's off the beaten path (and back some windy roads). It's a cool layout with the kitchen/laundry downstairs and the open area loft above with the beds and couch/TV. Only one thing I missed and that was a microwave. Nice selection of restaurants just a few miles from it. Host was very responsive to my texts. ##### Ray D. We ended up cutting our stay short after just one night due to the ants and stayed elsewhere while losing a fair bit of money in the process. While communicating with the host he acknowledged having ongoing issues with the ants so it was very disappointing that they were not removed prjor to a pricey stay. The ad itself is also misleading in that it says 1 bedroom and 1 living room but in reality they are combined into 1 room with no walls protecting privacy around the main bed. We were left on the hook for many of the additional fees outside of the nightly fee that the host was not willing to reimburse despite the horrific conditions with the ants. Overall such a disappointing experience when traveling far and paying a significant fee for accommodations. ##### Caleb K. This was fairly reasonably priced and had enough room for our family of 4 (minus the small shower). It was hot upstairs (80°) even in the evening; we were able to turn the AC down but it still never felt like it cooled off much. The location is way off the beaten path and very secluded (other than the second house on the property). Whenever we had questions, the host was quick to respond and extremely helpful. The serene location, surrounded by nature, was the perfect getaway.
