I stayed at the hotel for four nights. The staff were friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated. However, the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas left something to be desired and definitely needs improvement. With better housekeeping standards, the overall experience could be much more enjoyable.

The staff are good at their job. From the airport to the hotel and back to the airport was a smooth transition. Clean rooms and they’ve got a nice lobby and it’s quite spacious. They welcome you with some tea and that’s a good gesture. Highly recommended for travelers.

Hotel is nice, staff is friendly, enjoyed my massage at the spa. With that said, at least in US standards, this hotel would not meet the requirements of a 5-star hotel. It would likely be closer to a 3.5 star hotel.

I had a pretty good stay at the Grand Palace hotel. I appreciated the free airport shuttle, hot showers, and a good meal at the hotel restaurant. The staff were always helpful with my requests. I was surprised that my room had no table or chair at all, which was pretty inconvenient. There was a sign about amenities having been removed for covid-19, and that they could be requested, but still! Also, my room happened to have only one window looking out into a narrow alley with the fire escape, and it could be pretty loud during the day with voices and various clanging noises. For a longer stay I probably would have asked for more furniture and/or to change rooms, but for a short stay it was fine.

I was a bit suspicious at the low number of reviews at first but I realised that they were a new hotel once I got there. The service was honestly impeccable. The lobby and the rooms were very spacious and beautiful. The Gym is honestly one of the best gyms I've ever seen in a hotel. All in all it was a great experience. Would definitely recommend!

Grand Palace Not So Plesant Stay

My stay was not so pleasant: 1. There was no air freshener in the toilet 2. Toilet paper ran out without replenishment on time. 3. Left my access card at the reception, and they misplaced it and denied that I left my card at reception. They later found it and the apology was not sincere. 4. Paid USD539 for the accommodation and submitted USD600. I was given the change in birr even though I did not want the birr. 5. one of the receptionists gave me the change short by 1000 birr. I do not know whether it was intentional or a mistake. 6. Aircon was centrally controlled hence not effective in the room.

NOT a 5 star hotel

This hotel is misleading because it claims to be a 5-star hotel. Not even close. The rooms are clean, and I was upgraded to a bigger room. But I was disappointed because I expected a 5-star hotel. This could be a good 3-star hotel with 2-star (even less) breakfast and 5-star gym. I can name a number of 4-star (or even 3-start) hotels in Addis that are much better. The furniture looks nice, but no drawers at all. And no work table or charging/USB plugs. And it is a new hotel.
