![📍Dunnotter Castle, Stonehaven

What an amazing place this is, not only is the castle a very interesting place to see and visit, there is also a very cool coastline to explore with many natural features for great exploring and photographic opportunities. Pictures really don't do this place justice.

The surviving buildings are largely of the 15th and 16th centuries, but the site is believed to have been fortified in the Early Middle Ages. Dunnottar has played a prominent role in the history of Scotland through to the 18th-century Jacobite risings because of its strategic location and defensive strength. Dunnottar is best known as the place where the Honours of Scotland, the Scottish crown jewels, were hidden from Oliver Cromwell's invading army in the 17th century. « L'endroit est magnifique, hotel et environs. tout est conforme à ce qu'on attend d'un grand hotel: chambres, service attentionné, très bonne cuisine, etc. Nous n'avons pas utilisé le golf mais il semblait parfait. En revanche nous avons utilisé la plage voisine de Balmenie, qui est splendie. Seul regret, de devoir quitter cet endroit. »

« We had a lovely time at the Glen Clova hotel, it's set in beautiful scenery and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and our room was very quiet. Only thing I would ask for is mineral water in the room because both taps in the bathroom were running warm water so we couldn't pour a glass from there. »
