I’ve stayed at several SLH properties, and this wasn’t as nice as I expected. The room was nice, they use Grown Alchemist products. The restaurant/bar was just ok (bartender was great). The area it’s located was fantastic, walking distance of 2m from the Christmas market.

This boutique hotel brings you the service and beauty of a luxury hotel for much less. Recently renovated, you’ll enjoy marble sinks, blond oak floors and, depending on the room, lovely views of Zurich and its namesake lake. Right next to the Opera House and a short walk into the center of everything, you get the best of both worlds - relaxation and bustle - as you choose. Carmen checked me in and was a delight after 24 hours of travel and airports. She went above and beyond! What a gem!

Overall staff is businesslike and not very friendly. Lighting in restaurant too bright and like a coffee shop-hostess seemed in a rush even with low volume. It would take very little to give this place a rave-the location and basic amenities are excellent.

Great location near the lake and Stadelhof train station (15-20mins to airport). Many tram services and options for dining. Most of all, freshly refurbished with modern and elegant finishes. Would stay again

Apparently this hotel had just been renovated. It’s good in theory, however all their bathroom fixtures although aesthetically pleasing, are sharp & hazardous in the small bathrooms. Also the doors are glass and there’s no real privacy between the bed and bathroom areas. What I found so disturbing was that there was never anyone at the front Desk to help you. We tried calling for dinner recommendations from our room and no one ever picked up the phone. The staff member that checked us in, Carmen, made sure to let us know that our breakfast was definitely NOT included in our room rate. At checkout, she didn’t even ask us about our stay. If you are the face of a small luxury hotel, you should be able to greet guests with a smile. It was as though she was doing us a favor. Isabella was kind as was the housekeeping staff. As I stated, very nice boutique property, but will not be returning.

So happy with my stay at the Ambassador! Staff was so friendly and helpful, rooms were very clean and they even left a handwritten welcome note. Recently renovated and very modern. Toiletries were high end and they provided all extras you could think of. Rooftop had amazing views and located very close to the old town! Cannot recommend more.

I would not stay here again. It is clean but they gave us a room with a tiny window and when I called the front desk to ask for a change the receptionist was not too nice and said I should’ve paid more. It wasn’t worth the price for me..

this is the worst hotel we've been to in 20 years, whether 5 star (ritz, kempinski st moritz, etc) or 2 or 3 star in ten countries. it was an attic single room they called a double. 1.the twin bed was next to wall angled 45 degrees, bumped ones forehead badly if trying to go to bed from the left side where the night table and night reading light was. 2. the horrible revamp to make it look classy was a fake. 3.all lights were linked so reading in bed at night was only possible with night lamp and ALL other five lights blasting, including the ceiling light and 2 hall lights. horrible. their excuse was it was designed that way. 4.when finally 11 pm turning lights out, 2 sharp lights under each bed lit up if one moved, or if blankets touched the floor,...creating 2 metres of light and sharp shadows. phoned desk to be told to stuff pillows and towels to cover the floor lights due to bad design. 5.this isnt even one star! lots. of leather boxes to look "designed" one was 10 inches by 8 inches containing 2 cotton pads for face! totally phony superficial look. every time you turn right at the tiny window you hit your head due to the angled wall, due to stuffing 2 beds into a one bedroom space.and of course no closet space. 5. "free' fridge meant one 2 sfr pack of nuts and a quarter bottle proseco, not renewed nightly. outrageous greed.. 6.their other , ie hotel opera,across the street, fabulous in EVERY way, big windows, high ceilings, superb modest refurbishment.

My first stay at this lovely hotel and it was wonderful. Perfect place to stay for the opera. Such nice people from the desk, housekeeping, and the cafe. My room was so comfortable!!! Clean and decorated very tasteful. I highly recommend The Ambassador. I will certainly stay there again.

I had stayed at the property before and had liked it very much. It is near the lake about a minutes walk. A beautiful hotel and Nina at reception was brilliant. She greeted us and offered us a drink. Other staff were also very polite. The room we had was very large as well. The room was clean, the furnishings were in excellent condition and the beds were comfortable. We had a lovely view out of the window which can also be opened. The breakfast was good with lots of choices. We visited the University botanical gardens which is just two stops on the tram. You can buy chocolates near the tram and train location. There are a number of restaurants here as well. I would definitely visit Zurich based on the fantastic stay at this hotel.
