"This property is beautiful. There is an older section that has great character and architecture. This is where we stayed. It was a very great experience. There is also a more modern part of the property with all the modern conveniences. Once inside the facility it is very clean, safe, and inviting. However, the area of the city is less desirable. Like most cities, there are areas less clean and less safe. This is the area of the city that this hotel is in. Plenty of trash and unsavory smells in the area around the hotel. If you are a little adventurous and cautious this is a wonderful hotel to stay in. Again, the hotel and staff met or exceeded everything we could want for our trip to Rio."
