The Google name should be Flower Homestay not Ikegame. We used that name and were directed to a very remote place. Fortunately we were stopped by a local who kindly helped us to get an Uber. As it turned out, this place is very close to the train station. It has no elevator so be prepared. Our sink also was stopped but the proprietor was not on premises to fix it. This is the most amazing place I have ever stayed in all my travels, and truly has been the highlight of my trip to Taiwan. The people were generous and kind, the food was the best I’ve had in this country (definitely book the hot pot dinner!), and the rooms are charming, comfortable, and impeccably clean. They tell you exactly the best place to watch the sunrise, overlooking the tea plantation just a 2 minute walk down the street. And the seating area on the terrace for both sunrise and sunset are darn near perfect. If I ever come back to Taiwan I’m 1000% staying here again for a longer period of time! To say this place blew me away is an understatement. The hot pot restaurant was amazing with delicious fresh veggies and was a lovely way to end the day after hiking in the misty forest. The view of sunset from the hot pot restaurant was absolutely stunning! My only reservation would be for elderly travelers as there are stairs and some steep pathways- they would need some assistance with luggage and walking. Breakfast was delicious! I’m so grateful we stayed here. Thank you!
