But terrible points are, no elevator, need to get heavy luggage upstairs, need to charge 1000 yen if you need to keep luggage there for a couple of hours after check out, hot spring bath available at limited time period , and the smell of the new wood in the room have give a bad day for those who are sensitive to smell, just like those people don’t smoke cannot tolerate smoking room. The front desk attendee was very hospitable, a warm welcome to our first time in Yufuin! Gems is a minute walk from the station / bus stop, and is located centrally to Yufuin town. The walk to Kinrin lake was beautiful, with views of the mountain on the street. The room we booked was incredibly spacious, and although designed for 4, did not feel too empty for 2. Really did not expect much coming into it. Originally we booked a onsen place which was old but big with 2 meals served. However, last minute changes, we ended up booking this place. I can only say it was such a nice surprise! Not only is the place clean, it is also very convenient!! This is literally a 2 minute walk from the train station. This is highly recommended for family traveling together. This place has hot spring as well!!
