I often stay at Holiday Inn Express while traveling and have come to expect a certain level of consistency. Although there was absolutely nothing wrong with our stay, this particular Holiday Inn Express doesn't quite meet the overall high standard I'm use to experiencing. A little extra sprucing up is in order.

Tile in entryway & bathroom were sticky upon arrival, not cleaned well, TV & phone did not work & it was so hot in the room we had to turn the a/c on 65 degrees & keep it there or it was too hot to sleep. Carpet throughout the entire hotel was stained & disgusting.

My check-in was a nightmare. The booking was mixed up somehow and it took 45 minutes to clear the issue with Hotels.com. The receptionist was AMAZING though! He was understanding, patient, and accomodating. The stay was great.

The food was great ! The service was amazing . The room and bathroom and chairs in the room were dirty . Needs painted . Walls and ceiling . There was black mold on the outside of bathroom tub . The hand soap seemed like it was almost empty. There was cigarette burns by the beds. There was no travel bags snacks to go , like we have had before . And the breakfast was very good and the black lady was so nice . She should be able to take home or have the staff split up what is left over . I just so happened to asked . Can’t say I would stay again. We were a little Tired to ask to move rooms . But the staff again was Very nice !!!

The bathroom room was missing towels and there was debris on floor in bathroom .. we have stayed before .. usually perfect .. today was unusual .. also the breakfast was out of plates and several food items … also unusual . We will come back as overall we like this hotel and location

Very disappointed
Place was in poor overall condition. Every part of the hotel was worn out and in need of a full renovation. The carpets in the corridors and in the room were dirty and badly stained. We had to move to a new room as the fridge didn't work in the room assigned and smelled gross when the door was opened. Not what I expected from Holiday Inn, certainly will not stay there again and probably will avoid any Holiday Inn in the future.

This hotel is an older property located close to a number of truck-stops. I was afraid truck-stop noise would keep me awake all night, but amazingly I got a surprisingly quiet room with quiet HVAC and I slept well (the most important thing). I was able to turn on the HVAC fan without having to turn on the A/C or heat. This created “white noise” that drowned out outside and hallway noise. The hotel’s carpeting is old, stained, and disgusting but I can live with that. I only care about sleeping. Breakfast was good enough with your standard variety of eggs, potatoes, sausage, oatmeal, pancakes, juices, etc. For an older property, I think they are charging too much for rooms, but I did get a quiet room so that’s the most important thing.

Although there was a computer error and we were not able to stay at the specific location, Charlie, the hotel manager made sure that our reservations were still taking care of and handled by their sister property located directly behind this hotel. It was a very special birthday weekend for me and he went above and beyond to ensure that we were still taking care of even though we weren't guests at his hotel and even offered for us to come over and have breakfast at his location since Candlewood did not offer a Continental breakfast. Thank you Charlie, we appreciate your willingness to rectify the situation and you certainly make it right!
