This house has the most fabulous location. Our spacious sun porch overlooking peaceful York Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean offers an ideal spot for a leisurely meal or to linger and watch the yachts and sailboats come and go. Lush lawn and gardens sloping down to the water’s edge provide a tranquil setting for a good book or a refreshing drink, or simply lean back in the Adirondack chairs and let the sea breezes ease your mind. Take a walk on our deep water pier for an even closer look at the harbor activity. The view of the sunset from the pier’s edge is unforgettable. On the other side, you’ll discover York Harbor Beach just steps away from our front door (500ft to be exact), perfect for swimming, sunbathing and beach combing. The Cliff Path wanders atop rocky ledges and offers many great vistas of the crashing ocean waves below. And don't forget the Harbor Walk which meanders along York Harbor and the York River. Two great restaurants are within a 5-minute walk of the house. The location is fabulous. This massive turn-of-the-century Victorian estate has approx. 10,000 square feet of living space. There are 9 bedrooms, 7 baths and laundry facilities. We provide Adirondack chairs, beach chairs, beach towels, and shower products to cover everyone in your group. There is a garage where you can store your bikes, paddle boards, etc. All rooms have fast WIFI and A/C. Large dining room table. Extra large kitchen plus a kitchenette / sitting room with total of 3 refrigerators! Additional rooms were opened up for the 2022 season so reviews prior to 2022 don't reflect the enlarged offering. New, high-quality AC units were added to all bedrooms in 2024. The yard space is very versatile and enjoyable. Past guests have set up an inflatable pool for kids, a canopy for shade, and of course yard games. The harbor is fun for fishing, paddle boards, kayaks, etc. but bring some water shoes (the harbor is muddy)! There is a grill ready for you, with extra propane tanks. There are a few things you should know. The decor of the house is older. There is a long-term tenant who lives in a basement apartment; both spaces are secure from one another with separate entrances. The dock is utilized by about 10 boats; it is fully booked but sometimes a visiting boat can be accommodated. There is separate parking on the far side of the house for dock members. There is a security camera on the exterior of the house. The pool that you might notice in satellite photos belongs to a condo association and unfortunately is not open to the public. We brought family together from all over the country, and it was the perfect place to relax, reconnect, and spend quality time.The location was ideal—close to the beach, town, and walking trails. Some of us jogged to Nubble Light, others took easy strolls along the harbor. Cold ocean dips became a daily ritual! The house itself is super spacious and well set up. The big kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our crew of 11, and when we didn’t feel like cooking, Foster’s was right down the road. The sun porch quickly became everyone’s favorite spot—perfect for coffee in the morning, reading in the afternoon, and cocktails at night with that amazing view.We’ve already decided we’re coming back next summer. Unfortunately, we had to wash a lot of dishes by hand since the dishwasher broke the first night we were there, but we survived. :) Thank goodness there was a second one, but that was a bit of a pain. The only thing we wished was different was the configuration/size of the deck. It was a bit small for all to gather on. The house was very comfortable and spacious it was an Inn so each room had its own bath and most rooms were very roomy. The kitchen was well equipped to the point of needing organization and probably removing some items but rather have more than too little. The beds were comfortable and the a/c worked but window units were noisy. The linens including pillows can use some updating. The photos of house are accurate. It’s a step back in time regarding decorating and some fixtures. The house was very clean so that takes precedence over decor in my opinion. The house was very well equipped with towels for beach and bath toiletries blankets beach chairs and a beach wagon. Location was so fantastic we were able to walk to beach and local restaurant. We fished off the wonderful dock! All appliances worked great we made lobster and barbecued. I highly recommend this house if you don’t mind that the furniture-decorating and bath/kitchen needs updating. We will go back if we can gather our crew together again. ##### Nancy S. This was the perfect house for my husband and I to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren.We found it to be clean and roomy with spectacular views of York Harbor.There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of 14 adults. The beds were comfortable and the water in the showers was hot.The main kitchen was so large it took us a couple of days to remember where dishes, pots and pans, silverware, utensils, etc. were.The 3 refrigerators offered ample storage space for our perishables and the huge laundry room was fully equipped with not only a washer and dryer, but several large clothes racks, an ironing board and an iron.There were plenty of rooms downstairs to spread out to do puzzles, play games, read and just sit around.There was a bedroom down stairs that opened onto the porch.This was perfect for a family member who has trouble with mobility.Outside there is a porch, a large lawn, a pier and York Harbor Beach. The neighborhood is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Long Sands and Short Sands. There were a few negatives.We had a problem finding a sharp knife to pare vegetables and the cupboard and closet doors tended to stick. The bureau in my room was missing nobs, which prevented me from opening most of the draws and the plug in my sink was broken.However, all the positives outweighed every single negative. The large dining table was able to fit everyone around and the views of the harbor were perfect.Close proximity to the beach was great for the children 6 through 14 and adults.The rooms were good and all had air conditioning units. We especially appreciated the LARGE dining table, allowing everyone to eat together at the same time! (Also gathering for fun, laughter and game playing). The kitchen was delightfully large, allowing more than one cook at a time and those who just wanted to watch while enjoying conversing with family. The bedrooms were beautifully arranged, the mattresses were comfortable for a great night sleep! Overall, the house was extremely clean, spacious with beautiful views and the amenities (AC, washer/dryer, bathrooms! dishwasher) were appreciated. I, as the matriarch of the family loved meeting Nathan, the owner. It was nice to put a face and have conversation with him.
