Located at the base of the impressive Montana Roja, an extinct(!) volcano - the villa is within walking distance of the gorgeous Playa Flamingo beach and coastline promenade leading in to Playa Blanca town centre, complete with stunning views over the Atlantic towards Fuerteventura. Please see our previous guest reviews... \--- Outdoors: An electrically heated pool (8.4m x 3.8m) with large terrace, well-planted gardens, al fresco dining and BBQ area is contained within heightened walls for your total privacy and relaxation. Bedrooms 1&3, Lounge and Kitchen doors all lead to the pool area, making it the central point of the villa and (plus making it easy to keep an eye on the kids, should you need to). Capturing the sun all day, the area is complete with sun loungers for 6 people and a shaded outdoor area by the poolside. Colourful night lighting adds the final touch to your day, should you want to take a late-night dip or stay home to eat, drink and relax. Lounge & Living: Offers high speed WiFi, 55" Philips Smart-TV with Ambilight™ (Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime etc) with full satellite package including Sky Sports, Freeview, International channels and more. There is also a printer for any last minute boarding passes etc should you prefer paper versions. There is a small library of books from us and our previous guests - feel free to swap one! You'll also find a portable Bluetooth speaker, so you can be in charge of the poolside / dinnertime soundtrack. Kitchen & Dining: The kitchen is very well equipped, offering an Oven, Electric Hob, Microwave, Tassimo Coffee Machine, Kettle, Toaster, Blender, Juicer and of course all the expected Utensils and Crockery. Ideal for families with babies, children or teenagers, as well as for groups of friends looking for sunshine all year round. For nearby attractions, there are 2 waterparks within 15 mins walking distance, as well as Montana Roja itself, which makes for a great hike which takes around 1.5h and has stunning views over Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and the Atlantic Ocean. For cardio enthusiasts, a lap or 2 jogging around the crater makes for a unique workout! Activities like Mini Golf, Jet Ski Rental, Parasailing, Banana Boating, Beach Bars, Karaoke and Night Spots etc are all within short taxi ride, at Playa Dorada beach. Taxis can be called directly to the villa (usually arriving within 2 minutes!), or the taxi rank is located 5 mins away. Taxis are cheap and highly available (around €4-5 gets you in to the centre). For those who prefer to walk. The selection of bars and restaurants along the promenade under tropical palm trees makes it idyllic, day or night. Pool is heated to 28 degrees plus, which is fabulousThere are 6 sunbeds and an umbrella, so you can move the beds around for shade. The villa is as described, TV excellent. I would recommend a car, but my husband is 82 so, heat and slopes make it had work. We definitely want to come back. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival. Dory the villa manager was excellent she was always on hand if we had any questions. One of the shower drains got blocked and was fixed within an hr. The pool was superb. The only fault that we found was the pillows they were to small and to soft this didn’t stop us from having a good night sleep. The complex was very quiet and clean. The pool man came out 3 times to clean the pool he was such a lovely man hope to meet him next time. One tip if you get poorly and need to attend a clinic make sure it’s not a private one, I had an ear infection and the pharmacist sent me to a clinic, thinking it was covered with my EHIC card I had antibiotic injection and anti inflammatory injection was then told it was a private clinic and charged me 1,200 euros I nearly fell of the bed there were no signs in English or Spanish to say it was private hoping my insurance will cover it but not holding my breath. If you are thinking of a villa holiday in Lanzarote I recommend John and Maureen’s villa 100% had a fabulous two weeks at the villa we will be back ##### Christine W. Outside space, sunbeds, pool, table chairs and seat pads all needed good clean after bad weather ( calima) after a number of e mails to the owner the pool man and gardener were sent. However there was no offer to send someone to clean outside and the equipment noted above, we had to do this ourselves. Bad first impression. Once we had washed and cleaned and made the outside space usable, we enjoyed our stay. ##### Christine G. Really comfy beds, the villa was really well stocked and the outdoor area is really private and spacious. We hired a car and really enjoyed exploring the northern end of the Island too. Lovely villa inside and out. Nice to have the Red Mountain so close for a walk, easy access to Playa Blanca either on foot or by (cheap) taxi, and we took every opportunity to enjoy the local fish in the lovely restaurants. The pool was a bit cold and with leaves but that was quickly resolved thanks to the maintenance staff. The only main problem was with the bathrooms - in one, the shower wasn’t working properly and in one, the water heater was noisy so we had trouble getting to sleep until the noise would stop.
