Downstairs provides more private space with plenty of room for kids, a Smart TV and DVD player, a spacious laundry room, more decks, and access to the hot tub and lower yard. We had a long day of travel and got in at 1:45 am, however when we woke up to the beautiful landscape and beach, all our troubles melted away. Some things are no longer there like the basketball game and couch in the garage. Carpets are white and covered in stains and are filthy. House allows animals so animal hair is everywhere. Furniture is old and some of it is not very comfortable. Beds are mostly firm and old. Lots of scratches and scuffs on walls House needs a facelift. Lots of spiders inside and out Some Boards on the deck are rotted and need replacement. Pots and pans are old with flaking teflon. Overall, it’s a large okay house in a great location with amazing views and mid grade beds. They only provide minimal garbage bags, dishwasher pods, towels and TP. Pros: beds and bedding were extremely comfortable! Bathrooms were clean. There's a big basket of bath towels near the hot tub door - perfect so we didn't use up the bathroom towels for tubbing. Being able to bring our dog was a huge bonus. Dining table is big with cushioned seats so great for board games or a meal with a big group. Hot tub was a nice temp and clean. Driveway is large so plenty of parking. You can walk to restaurants & shops. Cons: kitchen pots/pans are very old. Bring your own. Pot holders are vintage + too thin to protect your hands. I found a dish in a cupboard that was covered in old cooking oils. We washed several dishes before we used them. The kitchen itself is beautiful with good appliances. It just needs some attention to getting rid of old drinking glasses, pans, etc and replacing. The game room smells musty (common due to coastal weather) + likely would smell much better if the old furniture/cushions were removed. Overall it was a great place. Note that you can't see the ocean from the deck due to large shrubs but you can see it inside the house through some trees. When we checked in there was furniture on top of furniture as if the carpets had been cleaned, but no one came to put it back where it belonged. My stepdaughter rearranged the furniture and spread out rugs. The place is supposed to sleep twelve, it does not. I'd say it could comfortably sleep 8 at the most. When we arrived we found a broken bed on the bottom floor. I reported it several times to Vacasa, no one ever came to fix it. I had to call Vacasa re location of hot tub key, long wait on the phone. The appliances in the house are bad. The grill was filthy and attached to a rusted out propane tank. I spent two days trying to clean the grill. The dryer didn't work until we climbed behind and removed a great amount of lint from the dryer duct, it was packed. The washer and dryer were dirty. Pros: Location of house. Great ocean views! Saw blow holes of whales from the deck. Kitchen is well appointed and has anything you could need. Area is quiet and neighbors are not too close. It was great to walk to restaurants and shops. We particularly loved the shop "Mystic Antiques" and bought beautiful rings there. Cons: House is dated. We were told just before we arrived that ice maker was not working. This means also no filtered water from fridge. There was a half empty bag of ice in the fridge and tiny ice cube trays. I do not want to use a bag of ice that previous renters may have dug their hands in. We had to keep refilling the trays to get ice for our drinks. After starting our laundry, we realized the dryer did not work. Vacasa admitted that they knew they dryer was inoperable and offered to have us go to another property to do laundry. I do not want to spend time during precious vacation to go do laundry at another site. Their solution was to credit us $55 for inconvenience. Sorry but that is not enough. Also, the playroom/garage room with ping pong table smells terrible. A strong ammonia smell. Overall, the house is very big and in a wonderful location. However the description of the home being "elegantly appointed" is far from the truth. For the price of the rental the appliances should work! Also, the last 10/10 review from 5/24 is fake. We enjoyed the time with our family in such an amazing beautiful home. A few of the unappealing things about the home were the poor choice of teflon frying pans, for all of the frying pans are in pretty bad shape. We were expecting a four bedroom home but there were only three actual bedrooms. Arrived and the entry key # would not open the door.After 1/2 hr on phone with VRBO rep., she told us she would have the local property manager call us..We found a way in the back LUCKILY because we were not called back for two hours.One other really odd thing. We eat in and I love to cook. There are really nice cooking things BUT this was the first of about 15 VRBO rentals that did not have the basics. No salt and pepper even....no coffee at all not even for the first morning. No shampoo...Three refrigerators and all three had broken ice makers. I called ahead to see if they had a Keurig and if they had beach towels. The rep told me no to both but that they had two coffee makers\_they did not and towels to clean our dogs-there were none I would defiantly go back to this home BUT I would know to bring essentials(the little store there is very expensive) I'm just giving this review to help the next guests who should really enjoy their stay in this wonderful beach home ##### Sheila M. Only downside for us was no beach hiking -- the home is located near a cove that prevents access to the beach.
