Check in process took forever. We were unable to get any dining reservations that we were interested in, and the beach area in our location was all rocks, we were not able to get in the water at all at the Tulum location.

The property itself was stunning. Housekeeping and wait service were fantastic (particularly Emanuel at the buffet). However, when we first arrived, the check-in clerks were unfriendly and unhelpful. Certain things I'd like to clarify for others so they may make an informed decision before booking in Bahia. It's a massive complex with three properties, each with a levels. The lowest level is Coba (which has a terrific water park and several decent restaurants), the middle is Tulum, and the highest is Akumal. The water parks for kids are incredible and are definitely the resort's highlight. On a side note, the beach isn't particularly swimming-friendly. Sand area is small, with a rocky entrance. We went with my mother-in-law, who is in her 70s, and my three-year-old kid, and they put us on the third floor. Normally, I would not have thought to request that my room be floor accessible, but the resort does not have elevators. So after the first night, she was unable to get up and down the stairs. The air conditioner in our room also broke the first night we were there, making for a tough first night. So, after dealing with the front desk, saying they can't assist me with either of my complaints. The supervisor, Rodolfo, was helpful and was able to convert our 2 reserved rooms into floor level. The hotel only allows 1 meal reservation for every 2 days of stay. This information is significant because the hotel's rooms and amenities are not clearly described.

Best all inclusive of several I have visited in Cancun/Tulum area. Well trained friendly staff. No lines for dining, drinks or other activities. Rooms extremely well maintained and updated. Pool options great for both adults with swim up bar and entertainment and kids with slides and no pool bar. Air conditioning excellent. Cute little mammals wandering property grounds. Thank you for asking. My experience with Bahía Príncipe Grand Tulúm was absolutely great. I can’t say the same about my booking with Expedia. The problem was my transportation from Cancun Airport to the resort and back. It was not clear on the Expedia website during a booking process that I need to book my transportation separately. During my previous all-inclusive trips to Mexico with other companies, I never encountered into that kind of problems. The transportation always was included. That problem has caused me a significant emotional distress at the Cancun Airport and additional cost for a private taxi. I also didn’t feel safe giving the recent warning about American and Canadian tourists kidnapped in Cancun area. Also, there was no Expedia representative at the Bahía Príncipe Grand Tulúm or other Bahía Príncipe resorts. Thanks one of tour agents of the resort who helped me with transportation back to the Cancun Airport on my way back home.

The kids club was great for our son and gave us some time to ourselves. The staff was amazing and he loved it there. The resort was well laid out and our room was nice. The buffet was amazing and the themes shifted so it was different.

This was a terrible experience. They provide the most basic rooms. The rooms are tiny and dirty. They were not honoring any of the VIP benefits including room upgrades, not premium services. I am very disappointed and I will rethink booking using Expedia going forward as hotels are not honoring VIP benefits.

This was a great all inclusive resort for our family, with many food options/bars everywhere, mulitple pools, and entertainment. The room was spacious and kept very clean daily. It was easy to get extra blankets or whatever we needed (e.g., more drinks for fridge delivered when we asked at front desk). We were on the main floor in building 8 (room 0804) so it was easy to walk anywhere or catch a trolly. The beach was easily accessible and both pool and beach had lounge chairs but be sure to secure it early as finding one mid day is near impossible. They also could have more umbrella options as it was quite hot the days we didn't have shade. Staff were very friendly and helpful (most of them anyway!). Good location for getting to Xel-ha park and Tulum ruins.

We had a great family stay. The two bedroom suite was a big selling point. We were much closer to beach and pools than we expected for a mid/large resort. I have stayed at 4 Mexican resorts. BP Grand Tulum is not perfect but we felt it was very good for the value. If you see my 5 stars it is based on understanding expectations. If you read negative reviews it has more to do with customers wanting a 5 star resort for four star prices. These guys do everything they can to make your stay nice but the fact is there are just too many people staying compared to staff to attend to you every second of the day. In the meantime, you get great service if you want it but if you are in a tizzy about getting a beer or drink in a hurry, there are plenty of options for bars or self service. You have to go out of your way to not enjoy yourself.

The property, staff and food was all good/excellent. The shuttle to and from the airport was expensive and very shady. We were given a price if we wanted to wait 2 to 3 hours for a ride, than a different much more expensive price if we wanted a ride within 10 minutes!!! That is just not right.

The only complaint I have is that there wasn’t very much shade over the pool, so you couldn’t be in the water and out of the sun. Otherwise it was a perfect vacation!!!

The Staff In general the staff was super friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Salvador at the Mexican restaurant for exceptional service! We did however had an issue with the safe box in our room which had a dead battery when we arrived. We had to call room services 4 times for someone to finally come and fix it. During one of our call, the person on the phone even told us someone came multiple time, knocked on our door and even called the room phone, which was simply not true since we were there waiting the whole time. When we told them they probably had the wrong room number, they kept saying it was impossible in a condescending way. A similar thing happened when we tried to get an extra blanket for the kids, which took 3 different requests. Cleanliness Our room, the restaurants, pools, bar and other public spaces were all kept super clean. The food The main buffet was fantastic with a great variety! Unfortunately we could only try the Mexican restaurant as all the others we're fully booked from the day we arrived. Property condition & facilities The facilities in general were great. Being there with small kids, we mostly spent time around the pools, which were very nice. Our kids especially enjoyed the kids pool and the water slides. We had no problem finding shaded seating all week, which was great. Unfortunately the kids playground was closed all week. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Grand Bahia and are already planning to return!
