We were greeted by a bottle of wine for us and a treats / a bowl of water for our dog. Our host was very communicative before and during our stay, checking in to see how our trip was going and recommending spots to check out when we inquired. The house and all that came with it were clean, the grounds were perfect for our dog to explore on leash and the natural light from the skylights were beautiful. It was easy to stop by the local coop and grab a few things for food prep that were easily utilized in the cozy yet fully stocked kitchen. Not that you’ll want to do too much cooking, there are so many great food options close by. The cottage itself is a 5 minute drive to downtown Woodstock and between 15-30 minutes away from a multitude of attractions (Overlook Mountain, Opus 40, the Falling Waters Preserve, Mountain Top Arboretum and the Hessel Museum to name a few). I recommend bringing an extended leash for porch hangs if your dog is less than 25 pounds, there is a gap going around the lattice fencing that small dogs can slip under. Make sure to bring boots and bug spray, and mind the deer population! They are most active at dawn and dusk, so drive cautiously.
