Just an hour's drive from Galway City, Woodford provides a peaceful base from which to discover the beautiful west of Ireland. Great fishing can be sought on the lovely Lough Derg, less than a mile from the village, plus wonderful walks lead in every direction. Take a day trip to the Slieve Aughty Mountains, enjoy an afternoon of golf at one of the two nearby courses or discover the heritage of this beautiful area at the imposing Portumna Castle and Gardens. A holiday here isn’t complete without a trip to Galway.
