Welcome! DogWood cottage, is located at 1615 Bullpen Road. Woodbury TN 37190\. The short uphill entrance lane is decorated with a few dogwood trees on either side, ending with superb Japaneze Maple on either side of the lane, then a Swanson Cherry tree as you bear right nearing the cottage. Great amenities, spacious combined kitchen & dining room with a beautiful kitchen wood stove - (a replica only of antique hue), giving guests a "feel" of meaningful imaginitive "good ole days". You will appreciate a large living room as well. While we limit the cottage to 4 people, we do not mind if you have more children. If the 2 beds are full, they are welcome to sleep on the sofas in the living room, on a blanket on the floor etc. - we strive to accommodate the entire family! ◇ However, you must consult us if you desire to book more than four - and always state how many are in your booking! Use VRBO to message us! ◇ No smoking anywhere in the cottage or on the premises! This is also a drug free place! ◇ One pet per booking. We ask that you leave us $25.00 in cash or check on the table when you check out. If you want to bring more than one pet, consult us via VRBO. You must inform us if you bring pets, as we change out the living room rug (etc.) - using a different rug for pet stay versus pet free. But, both rugs are very nice! ♡ Please read every other description and rules that pertain to Dogwood Cottage on this site!! Much of this cottage's interior walls and ceiling is lined with smokey mountain style tongue n groove varnished pine, enjoy the feel and look of real wood. Relax and "sit a spell" on the scenic front porch with a roof, overlooking Bullpen Road. On a quiet night you might hear the soft flow of Bullpen Creek, perhaps see the sparkling glitter of its water rapids through the trees as the full moon sheds its night glow upon the brook - not to mention the stately trees and sloping landscape toward the sun set in the west. Then there's the secluded open deck on the south side to relax on, read a book, talk your hearts away, even pray together or have a meaningful solo time. The deck also offers a meadow view and stately trees. In the near distance you will enjoy a farm scene of several red, white and green barns! They provide shelter for goats, puppies, bantams (sometimes horses), and multi-colored free range chickens! ... Just perhaps you might hear the rooster crow at the not-too-distant hen house, as he announces another day is about to begin! Every booking gets to enjoy a dozen of these all country eggs during your stay at Doqwood cottage, free - upon request and availability. You might just see your happy elderly neighbors who live next door taking their morning - and sometimes late afternoon - walks on Bullpen road - down the hill, directly in front of and below the cottage - down to the recently built beautiful bridge, spanning Bullpen creek - then "back up the hill they come striving to stay fit"! You can too! We think you will find this a serene area, to enjoy a home away from home (others have - see their reviews). plus, acroos the road and north a little you will see a pallet business. This can be comforting too - you won't need to feel like you are all alone in a pkace of nowhere! About 5 miles away, you can drive through a horse and buggy community, enrout to the 4 CORNERS MARKET & DELI - a fun and quaint bulk food store where they serve sourdough sandwiches and soft serve ice-cream! (Please drive slowly to avoid a "run- in" with a horse n buggy on this country drive! Plus notice the many Amish signs of garden and other items for sale! Check them out!) There are good places to eat in historic Woodbury as well - only 8 miles south. There are four cities within a 30 minute drive, including a great Healthfood store in Murfreesboro - "Sunshine Foods". The cottage was very clean inside and had a very homey feel with lamps and personal touches. The kitchen was fully stocked with items needed to prepare meals in the large kitchen. Coffee pods and bottles of water were available. The living room was comfortable with plenty of comfortable seating. I enjoyed the two different outside area, along with the porch swing. There were plenty of towels and washcloths available along with shampoo/conditioner. The very tiny bedrooms, with very limited lighting, were our main dislikes. Overall, it was a pleasant stay that felt like we were on vacation in a cabin in the woods. Pros: Clean, Spacious, Fully Stocked Kitchen, Full size Refrigerator and Stove make it great for stay at home cooking. Linens provided, Washer and Dryer, Front and back Porch. The best Hosts one could ever hope for! This is a charming "rustic" cabin out in the country. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings as you are out in the country but within 25 minute drive to cute Hallmark like towns. There is a great Amish style market close by (4 Corners Market and Deli) that we stopped at several times during the week for supplies. Thankful the Hosts noted this in their recommendations. The area is very quiet WITH country sounds. A few dogs in the distance. Owners have dogs but seldom could we hear them. We enjoyed the quiet crow of the Rooster in the morning along with a few other farm animals. The setting was so peaceful. Rolling green hills out back. The front porch was a favorite time to enjoy morning coffee. I don't think I have ever heard so many happy birds chirping. Late in the evening you would hear the usual crickets and other quiet country sounds. The road traffic was very limited. Maybe 20 vehicles a day and a few horse and buggies. That was also such a joy. The cabin is close to a corner so no one is driving by fast. ##### Brenda G. The waners and their cabin are a great representation of this area's community and culture. Perfect peaceful farm escape in the middle of nowhere but somehow still conveniently located close to anything you could want to do or see. My family and I visited the yearly autumn street fair, cedarwood pumpkin patch, and the four corners amish store that had the best baked good youve ever tasted. Place was very CLEAN and COZY! Bed was especially soft like a cloud! Christian was SUPERB about communicating and responding to messages! Outside grassy area is okay for dogs but we had soaked paws AND tennis shoes in the morning as we walked on the uneven terrain. My only regret was that we didn’t stay longer. ##### S P. The drive way does need a little more gravel to make sure we dont drive in the nice yard. We would stay again. We didnt cook much. We were mainly there to sleep. We had such an amazing time at this cute little house. Our favorite thing to do was just sit on the front porch and chat. In fact we lost track of time so often by doing this that we didn't really go many places. This was the perfect little place to catch up with long lost family. Beautiful home, very spacious and clean, with 2 beautiful patios. They provide all the basics amenities. Check out was hassle free, just leave everything how you found it. We loved our stay at this very beautiful and peaceful home!! We’ll be back soon. Dogwood Cottage was such a pleasant stay for us, so much more than we expected. Visiting our daughter in the area and having her able to stay with us during our visit there made our trip there even more special. The property added so much to the comfort and peacefulness that surrounded our stay there with the farm-like feel and amazing scenery along with the calming sound of the creek running nearby. The cottage was quaint and comfortable, very clean and furnished with everything we needed for our stay including fresh flowers to welcome us in and a dozen fresh eggs for us to enjoy. Being able to sit out on the porch throughout the day talking, drinking our coffee or tea in the morning or while winding down our day added that special touch to our stay at the cottage. Our hosts were very gracious and attentive as well checking in with us if anything was needed during our stay. They left special hand written notes that included places nearby to visit out for a meal or make a day trip out to experience what the area had to offer and enjoy, at one point even helping us with a low tire on our car by offering the use of an air compressor which we appreciated so much.
