I met the owner Paul and had a good discussion on places to visit and the local snapping turtle. We brought paddle boards for the lake. The lake contains many aquatic plants and duckweed at the surface and provided an incentive to stay on the board. The morning fog was beautiful over the lake.The listing mentioned the racetrack. There is a train in the distance and the racetrack sounded like practice sessions one night when there were no events scheduled. We are used to those noises and it was still quieter than our house. It doesn't sound much louder than being near a highway and was over around dusk. Please don't take any of these as criticisms or a reason to not book here. For the proximity to the Dells this still felt secluded. The fire pit was wonderful and so was a relaxing soak in the hot tub each night. We made an effort to spend less than 2 hours doing tourist attractions and the rest at the house enjoying the scenery. Would love to stay again on our next visit. ##### Alexander S.
