The kitchen was equipped for what we needed and there was plenty of space to relax. The property itself needs some TLC. Many of the windows are inoperable and those that worked had screens that were in disrepair. The showers in the 2 bathrooms downstairs were not working properly. We discovered shortly after 4 pm we had no water. I got in touch with Vacasa to inform them that we had no water. They said they would contact the local team and they would be in touch with us. This went on all through the evening with the same response except they always asked if there was anything else they could help us with.. At 10 pm we turned in with no water the last message from them was the local team would contact us in the am. We heard nothing from the local team. I again contacted Vacasa in the am and complained with the response the local team would be in Touch with me. Around 10:30 am a nice man showed up to fix the water issue which only took him 5 minutes. He said It was the first he had heard from Vacasa just before he came over. He left us his personal number if we had anymore issues. We loved the house but I would hesitate to rent any properties Vacasa manages ##### Bunny A. Very spacious and accommodating. Things you should know before booking is that it is about an hour away from anything and everything. House could use some more TV's if you're going with children, pinball machines did not work and neither did "workout equipment" which was an elliptical and treadmill. One of the showers did not work and some of the fans that were provided did not either. Located right on a large river connecting to the ocean. Lots to see from the wraparound deck looking out over the water. The home was spacious and well-appointed. Kitchen had everything we needed as well as high end appliances. A nice unusual feature was two vintage pinball machines in the lower level of the home. The woodwork & cabinetry are awesome, nice finishes, etc. There were a few things that the house could use - hair dryers, lamps in the living room, instructions on the lighting in the house (confusing and hard to find what you are looking for), and some sort of dresser or shelves in the 3rd bedroom would be great. When we arrived, it was hot and stuffy in the house and we discovered half the windows are inoperable with labels on them saying “DO NOT OPEN”. Most of the other windows had ripped screens so the bugs flood right in. Hard to get a cross breeze because even the floor fans were filthy; most of them are covered in dirt and dust, and one doesn’t work. One of the showers comes out like a slow trickle and the other has a broken shower door. These were not the worst parts…The kitchen did not have hot water. I got under the sink to turn it on and water gushed out of the pipe. It was clear this had been an issue for quite some time and has not been repaired. I contacted customer service and could only text with a chat bot that said a local repair person would reach out. I never heard from anyone despite multiple follow-up attempts. In fact, I wasn’t able to contact anyone despite multiple attempts throughout my stay. Other important issues to note: The basement window is propped wide open without a screen, so it’s an open invitation to all kinds of critters. One of the large holding tanks of water has an open top so it may also contain dead critters floating in the water.I was hoping to scope this out as a potential spot for a bigger family trip, and would gladly return if these issues are resolved. House pretty clean & supplies were fine except only 3 coffee cups for 6 adults. VACasa said they would get more cups. They failed, never received. We got into the house through the garage, which was left unlocked The water was not hot. taking a shower was lukewarm at best. the doors were extremely difficult to open. There were two sets of instructions for leaving, one was on your site. The other was printed out and left at the property. You need to have just one set of instructions that agree. Fabulous property, however it needs more outdoor seating. it sleeps 10 however, they were only 4 chairs on the deck. The views were awesome, very quiet and peaceful. ##### Gerry O. The property was not well maintained. We encountered two roaches. There were numerous ants in the master bathroom. Two of the toilet paper holders had fallen off the walls and had not been replaced. Only one light in the kitchen worked (a known maintenance problem that was not disclosed to us before our arrival) and the non-functioning lights were not repaired while we were there. Two light fixtures could not be turned all the way off and were constantly on dim. The two exercise machines downstairs could not be used because any use resulted in the electrical circuit tripping. Many windows were not operable or labeled as do not open. ##### John E. Jun 17, 2025 #### Beautiful home in danger of falling apart This is a stunning home set on a breathtaking oceanfront property. Unfortunately, if the owner doesn’t step up to make some key repairs soon, I can’t imagine what kind of condition it’ll be in for future renters. When we arrived, it was hot and stuffy in the house and we discovered half the windows are inoperable with labels on them saying “DO NOT OPEN”. Most of the other windows had ripped screens so the bugs flood right in. It’s time to replace the windows so you can at least have a better cross breeze! The floor fans were filthy; most of them are covered in dirt and dust, and one doesn’t work. People should be prepared for this in the hot summer months! But this was not the worst part of our stay. The worst part is that the kitchen did not have hot water. When you turn the hot water on, water floods under the sink. It was clear this had been an issue for quite some time and has not been repaired. We contacted customer service and was directed to text with a chat bot. I was told a local repair person would reach out but I never heard from anyone despite multiple follow-up attempts. In fact, I wasn’t able to contact anyone despite multiple actual human throughout my stay. Other important issues to note: The basement window is propped wide open without a screen, so it’s an open invitation to all kinds of critters. There are massive holding tanks of water but one of them has an open top so I imagine it might also contain a number of dead critters floating in the water which is then pumped into the house. The mildew smell in basement made it impossible to use the workout equipment or to hang out in the arcade space for more than a few minutes at a time. Renters should be prepared to bring their own: tissues, sponges, drinking water (there are 2 water dispensers for the large jugs but none provided). We drank the tap water, which is pretty gross, given the aforementioned issue of the water storage tanks exposed to all kinds of rodents. There are 3 showers but 2 of them are in need of attention. One shower comes out as a trickle (Trost water pressure I have ever experienced), and the one in the master room has a broken glass door that was replaced with a shower curtain. The real issue here is not just aesthetic, but that was installed too low so it hangs down into the shower and is a safety hazard. My elderly mom had to shower upstairs because it was too hazardous for her to shower in her bathroom. I really loved the views and the home has so much potential. I hope these issues are fixed soon. I was hoping to scope this out as a potential spot for a bigger, extended family trip, and would gladly return if the law issues are resolved. The number one problem to resolve first is to assign a point person (an actual human) for renters to talk to regarding any issues that arise throughout their stay. But, and it is a big BUT, the house is being neglected. It is a terrible shame to see this happen because it is an amazing house. My biggest problem is the odor coming from the kitchen. I believe it is the drains/traps/septic. The odor is so bad, that I had to keep windows open to even stand near the sink. The place is very clean, but I would not stay here again because of this. Both oven doors are broken, which is a shame because they are high end appliances. Many of the windows and even more screens need repair. Primarily lights and doors. So many switches, none are labelled and many seem to do nothing. Very few of the outside lights work. We arrived late to a completely dark home. Later found the only front light that works is on the garage, but controlled by a switch above the kitchen sink! Struggled with the front door entry and had to enter through a back door. Later found the front entry requires turning the key all the way counter-clockwise, with extra push on the key, holding it in that position while pushing open the door. The lower floor back door has a similarly difficult process that took several days to figure out. Instructions would have been nice. The home was clean, but mold behind bathroom sinks and in showers could be easily eliminated with a bleach spray. Since the home does not have A/C, use of windows is necessary, but many windows had broken screens, shades, or opening mechanisms. We used those that did work and it sufficed. The home is spacious and had everything we needed. We did enjoy our stay. The view is beautiful and the environment very peaceful. ##### Ron A.
