Winnipeg stay part 2

Posted 23-Jul-2016
Pros: Available on short notice, accommodating, free cookies, Wi-Fi, parking.
Cons: Room cleanliness.
Location: Located on Pembina Highway, easy access to downtown shopping and restaurants. Some nice shops and eateries close by as well.
I had booked two rooms for my family to stay in while we waited for our furniture to arrive from Ottawa. The Holiday Inn Winnipeg South was a very convenient and well-located hotel outside of the downtown core. Close to work and our new place. It was also pet friendly and very accommodating as I had to book on short notice after we could not extend our stay at the previous hotel when our stuff did not arrive on time. The room my step-daughter and dog had was not up to standard with regard to cleanliness (bathroom) and her toilet paper roll holder broke on the first night. Our room was very much up to standard and comfortable and had an amazing view from the 11th floor looking south so we watched a wicked storm roll through the city and caught a double rainbow afterwards. We ate at the hotel restaurant on one night and it was merely passable although the portions were quite generous. Free Wi-Fi, free parking, and of course the free cookies made our stay at the Holiday Inn Winnipeg South an overall satisfying experience.

Comfortable rooms. Excellent restaurant and lounge with a wide selection of choices. Hotel was easy to access and close to amenities. Parking is covered and plentiful.

Spent 2 weeks at this hotel; nice, quiet except on weekends when a bunch of hockey teams moved in. 10-14 year olds. No sleeping in on the weekend.

Cons: Check in asked for handicap accessabilty and was denied.

We lost power for no apparent reason plus breakfast was served cold.My experience with Holiday Inns are breakfast is free.

They were renovating so it was loud in the lobby and they weren't super excited or necessarily welcoming...just...mediocre.

The lobby was under construction for renovations. The front desk staff did not seem overly interested in his job.
