Lovely Lake House
The lake house, affectionately known as Hoot Man, is located on a private road, and a private beach shared by a small, friendly and well kept neighborhood. There are beautiful views of the sunset over the Sebago Lake Basin, and a peaceful quiet punctuated by the calls of the loons skimming the lake water. The house is very cozy and clean. The mini splits in the bedrooms and living room keep the cottage comfortable. Everything is in good working order, the internet is fast for remote work, and there are plenty of games for rainy days. The only thing that would have made the stay even better, would have been kayaks on the property. Casey was a great host and responded quickly to our questions!

Fantastic Family Vacation
What an incredible location and well maintained property! Our family enjoyed both the amazing beach (our children made fast friends with others vacationing nearby on the great community only beach!!) as well as took advantage to how close the property was to other activities on days the weather wasn’t cooperating with being on the beach. The property was clean and communication with the owner was so amazing and clear. Hoot Mon has a place in our family memory and heart after an incredible week!

Great stay at my favorite Maine waterfront location!
I stayed with my mother and son(12). We were familiar with the location, having previously rented homes at the same beach. I rent in the area annually, but rarely want to return to properties. This is definitely a house will return to. In addition to the two bedrooms, my son made the upstairs loft his space for the week, which was perfect. The house is clean and well appointed. All aspects of the booking and stay were ideal. We brought two kayaks and enjoyed them on the basin. The only possible improvement would be kayaks on site, rather than driving them from Maryland. However, it would not stop me and they can always be rented locally.

Quiet lakefront cottage
The waterfront location of this well-maintained, light-filled cottage is terrific for easy access to a protected sandy beach that is well-suited for children. It is in a very quiet area with no traffic, with easy access to a variety of stores, restaurants. The location is also convenient for local nature walks and hiking, as well as excursions in and around Portland.

Perfect family vacation
We had the best time at Hoot Mon. This was the perfect place for my family. The house was so clean and had everything we needed. Having the beach right outside our door was so convenient. Christina and Casey were so helpful and great to work with. We will be back.

A Hoot!
"Hoot Mon" is a lovely lake cottage with comfortable and updated furnishings. It is open layout and has two bedrooms with en suites. It was perfect for our family consisting of two couples. It has great views of the Sebago Lake Basin, and direct access to a small neighborhood beach which was quiet and very clean. We really enjoyed the air conditioned interior on the hot summer days, which also made it comfortable for sleeping.

This property is awesome for the view and the proximity to a sandy beach. Has beach chairs and beach towels for guest use. Would have been super awesome if there were a kayak, paddle board, or canoe to use too. Very clean, and very close to grocery store and Walmart. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Our Third Visit
Another wonderful stay at HootMon! Our family looks forward to our stay every year. The home is always clean and supplied with the necessities (linens, toilet paper, etc.). The owners are super nice and accommodating. If you forget anything, grocery stores, Reny's and Walmart are just around the corner. And you can't beat the beach, the sunsets, and the loons!

Lovely, Thoughtfully Designed House with Amazing Sunsets
We loved our stay in this property. The spotless house has been lovingly cared for with thoughtful touches inside. The upstairs bed and bath provides plenty of privacy from the downstairs bedroom with a loft that can be used as a third sleeping space. We found the views of the water and access to the beach even better than the photos on the listing. One could spend the entire stay lounging on the beach or in the house or take short day trips to many places. We loved having access to the gas grill, washer, and dryer. The kitchen space is great, too. We also made sure we were on the deck most nights to watch an extraordinary sunset that took on different colors each night. And our communication with the owners was great from start to finish. We are already talking about a return to this gem of a house.

This property was perfect for our small family getaway. Very clean and only steps away from a small beach for the kids to play and adults to relax. My family and I decided to take a trip up to Maine to show the kids how awesome of a place it would be to live in. Well, this place didn’t disappoint. Quiet, beautiful, clean, and cozy, this place had it all. And the owners were very responsive and sweet. We would absolutely stay again!

Amazing!
The Hoot Mon Cabin was perfect! It was so quiet and peaceful. The water views from the deck, the sunsets and the proximity to town were fabulous. The cabin was very clean, had all the necessary amenities and then some. The kitchen was well stocked and was great for cooking meals. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. We loved it and would definitely return!

We absolutely adore HootMon. It is a little hidden gem... steps to the beach, yet shopping is just around the corner. This was our second stay. Looking forward to returning next year and making it a family tradition.

We enjoyed spending time together as a family at the lake cottage. It was literally steps from the lake and super safe for our two young kids. I enjoyed that the kids could watch a movie on the third level while mom and dad could watch their own show in the basement.

The four of us had plenty of room and the house is so lovely. The view of the lake was so beautiful and the few people we had to share the beach with were respectful of distancing. We loved our stay at Hoot Mon! We spent every day on the beach from our morning cup of coffee to dinner. Then back out to watch the sunset. You can’t beat how close the home is to the sandy beach... literally steps! It made it so easy to run back in if you forgot something, grab lunch, etc. We will surely be back next year!

Our family had a great week at Hoot Mon!! The house has everything and is very clean! You get beach access right when you walk out the door and a beautiful view of the lake. The beach is kid friendly with plenty of sand and shallow water. There is a new washer and dryer in basement. The beds are comfortable. Beach toys and chairs in basement and the picnic table with view of the lake was perfect for family dinners. Casey is a nice a guy we were happy we got to meet him! We enjoyed our stay so much, the memories will last a lifetime.

A perfect family getaway
This house was perfect for our family. My husband and I went away with his parents and our two young kids (4 and almost 2 year old). The house was clean, had everything we needed and the location was great. Especially because we needed to quarantine and the weather wasn’t always ideal it was great to be able to run back and forth to the beach with the kids without having to drag everything with us. The kids had a blast on the beach and swimming in the water. We had a lot of concerns about traveling due to COVID but Casey was great at answering all of our questions. Highly recommend this little paradise!

Perfect!
We had such a great vacation at this house with 2 adults and 2 young kids. The house was super clean and comfortable, and it was literally just a couple steps from the house to a small family friendly beach. The sunsets from the back porch were truly spectacular. Also, the house is only a 5 minute drive from a main road that has lots of stores and restaurants. The property owner, Casey, was incredibly nice and the communication was great - he gave us all the info we needed before we checked in and ensured everything went smoothly. I’d highly recommend this home. We’ll certainly be back.

Peaceful, lovely cottage right on the lake and bordering the community beach. The neighborhood is pretty densely populated, as you would expect from such a great location -- but the neighbors are friendly, respectful, and generally quiet. We loved the sunsets, the loons, the sandy beach. The cottage is well equipped - we had everything we needed, and Casey is great to work with. Easy to pop over to Portland if you want more excitement, and Windham has quite a few amenities itself.

Beautiful getaway
Hoot Mon is a beautiful lakefront home. The kids spent every day at the beach, my husband and I enjoyed the best lobster we’ve ever had from Bobs Seafood, and we treated ourselves a few times to the delicious ice cream at the Dugout. It was great having all of the convenience of shopping, restaurants, and activities so close by, while at the same time feeling like you are far away from the world as you gaze out at the breathtaking sunsets on the lake. My family and I had the pleasure of staying there for 5 days, wish we had stayed longer. Casey was very hospitable and the house was well stocked with the basics and many helpful kitchen gadgets. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.
