It is located walking distance from Lake Windermere and quaint downtown Bowness. The cottage was clean, cozy and comfortable. It was much larger than we expected. We were so thrilled with this place. The only problem was that VRBO and a different booking agency double booked the cottage. At 10:00pm a sweet couple knocked on the door wondering if we could help them find the key. Thankfully they found a second option after looking for an hour wirh us, but had change all of their plans. This was very strange and has never happened to us wirh VRBO. Walks and hikes on the doorstep, good restaurants nearby. And not far from waterfalls, trrektop trek and water sports - perfect for a family break away.
