The Wimberley Retreat offers a unique experience with a 3400 sq ft/5 bed/5 bath house that sleeps 14 and sits on 10 private acres with direct access to 600 feet of deep river frontage on the Blanco River in the Texas Hill Country. The 40 foot long pool, spa and fire pit overlooking the river all create additional recreational activities and gathering spots for a family or friend get together. I provide guests with all of details needed for check in along with a list of items provided at the house. Guests are not required to meet with anyone upon arrival, but rather will be given access codes to let themselves into the house. We are out in the country, but only 15 minutes away from the Wimberley town square. Guests have full access to the house and our 10 acres and 600 feet of Blanco Riverfront. There is only one house on the private property so you have the place to yourselves. The Wimberley Retreat offers a unique experience with a custom built 5 bedroom/5 bath house with luxurious pool and spa that sits on 10 private acres with access to 600 feet of deep river frontage on the Blanco River. The house is a custom built stone and stucco home designed by Chagnon Architecture with 3400 square feet of living space and an additional 1500 square feet of covered porch for extended living space. Five bedrooms and 5 full baths allow for ultimate flexibility to cater to large families, reunions, girls weekends or just folks trying to escape to the Texas Hill Country. Opposite the house and across the river is a cliff that overlooks the property and allows for ideal privacy and quiet. Few other homes are in sight, allowing the stars to shine bright at night. Escape the city pace and traffic for relaxation on the river or by the pool, with family or friends or co-workers. Have coffee on wraparound covered porch in the morning while a flock of wild turkeys roam the yard or several deer drink from the river. Enjoy an evening drink under the stars or next to the stone fireplace on the porch. The river itself has something for all ages with shallow areas perfect for small children as well as several deep swimming areas of 4-5 feet in depth. We are lucky to be located on a part of the Blanco that has deep water even in extended drought periods. The private grassy ten acres of The Wimberley Retreat provide more than enough room for everyone to run, play, throw a ball or frisbee, have a kickball game, or just explore the wonders of nature: birds, fish, turtles, frogs, lizards, butterflies, and wildflowers. Some fishing and butterfly nets are provided. Feel free to bring your fishing poles, river shoes, kayaks and canoes. The pavilion area is situated about 50 yards from the house and provides additional gathering space and activities for the group. It has additional dining and seating space overlooking the Blanco River below, a fire pit for night time s'mores creations and an adjustable Goalrilla basketball goal for pick up basketball games. The Wimberley Retreat house is perfect for large gatherings. The great room, with cypress wood accent wall and several huge windows facing the pool and bluff, has a 65" flat screen TV with Sonos sound system and is open to the kitchen and dining area seating 14\. The outdoor covered porch has a dining table for 8, a breakfast table for 4 as well as several lounging areas and built in sound system. The kitchen is equipped with all appliances, extensive food and drink preparation and serving ware, and indoor/outdoor dishes to accommodate any large meal. Each of the 4 large private bedrooms have attached full bathrooms. The 5th bedroom is also what we call the Bonus Room and includes a cypress wood accent wall, 55" flat screen TV and cypress wood barn doors that can be locked for privacy. An additional full bath with walk in shower is just outside the Bonus Room. The Bonus Room also can provide additional gathering space and has toys and games for both kids and adults alike. Use the queen sized sleeper sofa in the Bonus Room for additional sleeping space. There are 3 king beds, 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds in total, along with the queen sleeper sofa in the Bonus Room/5th bedroom. Movies, books, coloring books, puzzles, and games for all ages are in the Bonus Room closet, along with a cable TV and music system. Whether you are planning a mini-reunion, ladies getaway trip, couples gathering, team-building session for a small group, multi-generation family gathering, shopping or winery tour, or celebrating a special birthday or milestone, the Wimberley Retreat provides all of the privacy, space, and amenities your group will need. Area Attractions: Explore the areas around Wimberley including the Blue Hole park for another great swimming area. Or visit Gruene, TX and the historic Gruene Hall and the Guadalupe River where tubing opportunities are plentiful; Visit the Driftwood and Duchman wineries nearby or partake in some stellar Texas BBQ at the Salt Lick. There are plenty of opportunities for dining and shopping in town or visit the San Marcos outlet stores 15 miles away. Or try other outdoor activities such as a zipline adventure, trips to the local state parks such as Pedernales Falls State Park and Enchanted Rock or even road biking many of the beautiful roads in the area. Between the house, porch, pool, pavilion and the river, we never really needed to leave to find entertainment. Swimming, fishing and corn hole were big players! We cooked dinner each evening and found the kitchen very well stocked. H-E-B is ten minutes away so grocery shopping was easy. Sleeping accommodations worked perfectly for us. Grandmother stayed in the downstairs bonus room. Each of the three couples had their own room and the teens and children shared the bedroom with three beds. This home had it all! Spacious rooms to host our family of 11 (7 adults & 4 children), a large swimming pool, basketball court, fire pit, Blanco River frontage with deep water, huge dining table, well stocked kitchen with every item we needed! Roby's communication was excellent, and he replied immediately to any questions we had before and during our stay. We cannot say enough great things about this home. Wonderful porch and pool arrangement with good fence and gates for the littles. Only one small issue was, the washroom ice maker did not dispense ice. All else was excellent! Spacious rooms to host our four families (total of 13 guests); large swimming pool for fun games; sport court for pickleball (we brought a pickleball set); Blanco River frontage with deep water; huge dining table for meals and games; separate den area for the younger guests; every kitchen item we needed; three coffee pots; full size toiletries and plenty of toilet tissue! My family, consisting of 7 adults and 5 kiddos (aged 6 month to 10 years), enjoyed a wonderful spring break at Wimberly Retreat. The home and property are simply lovely and we experienced no issues, with pre-arrival communication and in-home instructions covering all the bases! We utilized the pool (in short bursts!), the hot tub, kayaked in the river, played basketball and a variety of games, and made smores. I friend and I got together to celebrate two Sister's of St Benedict celebrating their 75 th Birthday's . We planned this trip for over a year. I flew in from MN - my friend lives in Wimberly. We came a few days to prepare for their arrival. When we walked in we were amazed at the beautiful pool, spa hot tub. The landscaping was amazing . We played corn ball and “HORSE” in basketball. We walked all on the property. We lite fires in the fireplace,listening to music over their” SONUS” Sytem.Saw a full rainbow on our last night. A guy came to clean the pool and was the only person we saw. 7 year old LOVED the River, catching minnows and frogs. Then it was the large pool. Nearness to Wimberley was great. HEB for groceries and lots of BBQ to choose. Thanks to Robby for making suggestions. Our son organized a great corn hole competition for grownups and picked the 7 year old to be the judge, so she was involved. Plenty of facilities for cooking, inside and outside. Me and my extended family come to this house every year! We love it so much! The property is beautiful, the landscape is breathtaking and we see deer running around every morning. The gourmet kitchen is fabulous, outdoor covered patio is huge and there several areas to hang out without the sun! Outdoor grill is so nice and plenty of room for everybody. We all love going to the river and hanging out on the big rocks enjoying nature! Such a special place and we are never disappointed. The owner always checks on us and is very accommodating and if there is ever an issue , he takes care of it in a flash! This place is so special to my family.
