Rats in the parking area near the main building. You can nearly hear the person in the neighbour room breathing. Every step on the parking is hearable in the room. Wants to be more than it is on close examination ...

Wonderful family stay
Had a short but fabulous stay at widbrook with my daughter & 2 grandchildren, food was amazing, staff were friendly & helpful,the children loved the pool & grounds.

This was an absolutely charming place to stay. We stumbled across it and booked last minute and were so happy with our decision. The staff was wonderful, the food delicious and the atmosphere lovely!

Great Stay
This place was lovely. Our family was very comfortable. The bartender was great and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Make reservations. We did run out of hot water but it was probably my because my teenager takes the longest showers. Also, the pool is heated but not warm enough on very cold days.

Lovely building, bar & restaurant
We really enjoyed our brief stay, particularly our meal in the restaurant and drinks in the gin bar, where staff really went out of their way to look after us.

nice place large comftable clean room Nice shower with pleanty of hot water Food was very nice but limited beer selection (no IPA) but was fine it was a bit quite for me all in all I was happy and would happily stay again

Restful stay
A beautiful part of the world, booking in was friendly and help full, the room had a super king size bed, the pool was great. The Manor was ornate with lots of unusual ornaments, the big log fire was lovely and warming to drink your gin too !!! The gin bar was fun, with so many types to choose from. The evening meal was served by friendly staff who didnt bother us while we were eating (which was so nice) and the food was outstanding good all in all we had a very relaxing weekend helped by our stay at the Manor

Misleading!
Although staff were great, the location lovely, the hotel is very dated and unkept. There are several leak/damp damages to both main building and cottages and the outside is unkept with several "decorations" rotting. The listing is also misleading as the family room was listed as double and 2 singles but it was a sofa bed. Also you dont actually get to stay in the main building but in one of small cottages around meaning you have to put shoes and get fully dressed to access the communal amenities such as dining room, bar or swimming pool!

Special 30th birthday stay
The hotel staff facilities and food were all excellent we were kindly escorted to our room which was very clean and all the bits in the room even those for my dog was a nice surprise even the extra sausage for her at breakfast she was a very happy puppy. It’s a quiet and calm location though we did stay on a Monday night. The only let down was the fire alarm went off at midnight for about half an hour otherwise a 5* stay. I’m sure this was a one off so I would definitely recommend and a big thanks for a spa treatment and my birthday note and wishes from staff. Leisure facilities area was also great x

From start to finish Widbrook Grange was a complete delight. Having booked the room as a surprise birthday present for my best friend, I called the hotel and arranged for a birthday message to be left in the room upon arrival. The team couldn’t have been more helpful with this request and the trip as a whole. A beautiful place with wonderful staff - it makes such a difference when everyone is smiling and welcoming. Thank you - we’ll be back!

Disappointing bedroom
Despite having booked a double room we were given a tiny room on arrival with very little space at sides and in front of the large bed. Rather shabby wardrobe which was very small and awkward to hang clothes due to limited space. Very little space to move around generally. We complained the room was not what we had booked and asked to be moved to a larger room. They were unable to do this until the following afternoon as they were fully booked. The replacement room was very spacious but the initial disappointment rather spoiled our stay as we had to unpack then repack our cases and belongings in order to move room. Apart from that we found the staff very friendly and helpful.
