Adults only, (all guests must be 21 or older). Two guests max!!! Also, I get a lot of requests for small pets. Due to safety and health concerns, I cannot accommodate any pets at all. That includes service or support animals. No 3rd party bookings. The person booking, must be the person staying and the person that's name is on the account. The cottage is to the rear left of my property behind the main house where I reside. If you look at the aerial photo, you can see the proximity the cottage is to the house. It's about a 25 foot distance. It is very private though but for purposes of full disclosure, some outdoor spaces are visible from my ring cameras. For instance, my ring camera at my back door can pick up who enters the back yard and cottage but does not pick up images from inside the cottage or the private back patio to the cottage. I also have a ring camera on my front door that can see the driveway. That being said, you’re going to love the privacy and the location of this quaint cottage, tucked away smack dab between Wrightsville and Carolina Beach in the popular Masonboro section of Wilmington. For those unfamiliar with Wilmington, this area is not only very desired, but also very safe! The driveway is not paved and the path to the cottage is also unpaved but has concrete stepping stones that lead you to the cottage door. The middle space in the parking area is the designated space for the cottage. There is only one parking space designated for the cottage. If you have a friend or family member stop by for a visit, they will need to park in the street in front of my house. If you are interested in booking the cottage, please note: No parties or events. No smoking or vaping of anything inside cottage or patio room. No pets of any kind including service animals. Not suitable for children. Guests must be twenty one and older. Two guest max. Please do not remove any artwork from walls, including the nude woman pencil drawing in the bathroom. If the artwork in my home offends anyone, it is best they don't book a stay at the cottage. This 465sf Cozy Cottage comes with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Amenities also include washer and dryer, the full kitchen minus a dishwasher, Keurig for coffee, tea, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc... A small brick private patio off the back of the cottage has a table and two chairs, a lion fountain, and roses and flowers seasonally. Other outdoor spaces include the fire pit and the patio room. The fire pit and patio room are shared spaces but your back patio is all for you. Please note that there is no smoking or vaping of anything inside the patio room. All vaping and smoking must be done outside. The cottage has an open floor plan design with a queen size bed. There is also a small drop leaf table (that gets much larger), and two chairs that can be used for eating, a work space, or for playing board games on a rainy day. The large flat screen tv is a roku smart tv with streaming capability. Use the Spectrum App provided to access basic channels or use your own apps like Netflix, Prime, Hulu, HBO, etc... There is also a dvd player and a library of fun dvds. The cottage was cute, and it had a surplus of fun activities for us to do, and the host was nice. However the cottage was not clean, the fridge and freezer did not appear to be properly wiped down in a very long time, with gunk built up on all the shelves. I was excited to use the keurig and the k-pods next to it, but after an inspection I realized the keurig had the filter completely removed from it and I found small mold spores in the water compartment. The oven wasn’t disgusting but it too hadn’t been properly cleaned and smoked quickly with the food remnants from previous renters. The bathroom was mostly clean, however, the ceiling had black mold above the shower. Lastly on our final night I found a large cockroach scurrying around the living room. I was able to kill it and informed Patti which she apologized for and insured me they sprayed monthly but bugs can still get in due to the location. I believe her, however, it still was not an experience I’d want to deal with again. The place was cute but too cluttered with items that didn’t need to be there—large random furniture and about a hundred framed pictures. Again, the host was pleasant, but the experience was not and did not meet my standards of “clean” at all. Sitting in a nice , quiet, residential area it was completely private including your personal patio in back of the cabin . We had a very busy weekend visiting our daughter as she finished up her final year of softball at UNCW. The college was only a ten minute drive and fifteen minutes from Wrightsville Beach . Great location! My only complaint is that we did not have a down day to just relax at the cabin . From crocheting and drawing baskets , music instruments, movies , magazines and puzzle books or simply sitting in one of the outside areas to enjoy the gardens having a day to just relax would have been great !
