I hit the jackpot with the Hotel on Magnolia East. It was everything I needed and more. It has a great easygoing vibe and is close to the board walk, has plenty of nearby on street parking and is a great home base while enjoying the seashore. The rooms were clean and safe and the evenings were quiet and great for getting restful sleep. It's located on a residential street and it's laid back and peaceful but right in the heart of the action. And there was a church literally next door which made it super easy to attend services on Sunday morning. I found the hotel using Hotels.com and the reviews that I read helped to seal the deal. This is a great place to stay. Don't expect the fancy frills that you might get at a more expensive, big name hotel. Just expect friendly service and a great place to stay for a great price. They have bicycles to borrow as you please, a kitchen to use and a very nice area to just sit and relax. The absolutely only think we would suggest is, if possible, to install a little but larger sink to brush our teeth at. It was the tinest sink either myself or my husband had seen. But that's it! They are lovely people and will definitely go back if we ever find ourselves in the are again! It is exactly what it says it is and exactly what I needed. It was clean, it had everything I needed and Jen and Dennis were great hosts! My parents stay in a condo a couple miles away and my sister and her family stay with them. I spend all day, every day, with them but I get a place of my own to relax, refresh, repeat. Shower, air conditioning, comfortable bed, TV, mini fridge—everything I needed. I was lucky and was able to find parking each night but, had it had been an issue, Jen and Dennis were prepared with plenty of available options. They live next door with their wonderful dog Lily and I enjoyed meeting all of them. As I said, I was there for a quick shower and sleep and then was out all day. But had I had more time to myself, I would have loved to have spent time enjoying their comfortable and beautiful courtyard. I will certainly be back next year! This one was horrific to say the least. Let me start by saying that the place is cute and clean. Typical small family business. The bad experience stems from the owner's complete disregard of their customers' circumstances. I called on the morning of the day of our arrival to inform the owner that our flight has been delayed and we will be getting there at 1 am, which is past the check-in time of 10:30 pm and what can we do about it. He proceeded to tell me, that he'll wait for us to check us in. I asked if we could be given the code for the room, or leave the key somewhere and he insisted that it will be ok. I called again at 9:45 pm to say that we are boarding our flight as it had been delayed again for 2 extra hours. He again insisted that there should be no problem. We ended up arriving at 3 am, only to find no one at the reception, no key, no nothing. I called, emailed no answer. Myself and my wife had to sleep for 5 hours on a small couch in the reception area until the owner showed up. He insisted on charging us an extra $40 for "late check in". When I asked why he couldn't leave us a key, or even better program an entry code in the KEYPAD room lock like many many other hotels do, he belligerently said"don't tell me how to run my business". Hotel on Magnolia E is a cozy, clean and comfortable stay! The place is very cute, clean and conveniently close to the boardwalk, they have bikes and beach chairs to use for free! The rooms are just what you need to sleep and shower then go enjoy your time at the beach. So many good options around the corner, Salty Mermaid fish tacos are delicious and the ice cream place next door is really good. Acme supermarket is close as well as Wawa. This hotel is wonderful and the owners are absolutely are amazing! This is going to sound like a fake review, but it’s not. The owners were phenomenal, so helpful and friendly, and they provided anything you needed for the beach. The seating areas in the courtyard were cozy and welcoming yet were separated so all guests felt like they had their own area. Jenny and Dennis, the owners, went above and beyond for my comfort. I was offered something every time I saw them. They helped me with parking. Their hospitality was so good, it made me feel guilty I wasn't hanging around more. A quiet street, a block from the boardwalk, plenty to do around there. I will be back. And you have control over your own A/C. Jen and Dennis are working every day to enhance the property and the experience of the customer. And the fact they kept this from being another chain charging high-prices with this amazing location should continue to be supported.
