Not only was the house immaculate, but the attention to detail and amenities exceeded our expectations. The house in itself is well-appointed with beautiful decor, comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen supplies. The outside grounds are a dream come true for city folks. There is ample space to explore and to rejuvenate by the majestic creek and under the clear starry sky. My children loved feeding the animals and exploring the grounds. The homeowners were very kind, attentive, and helpful during our stay. We loved learning about the daily workings of the farm. We hope to come back again soon! You will have beautiful views, a private creek to dip your feet and explore in, plus the awesome swimming hole under the waterfalls … all to yourselves—priceless! Swimming next to the waterfalls was so much FUN! We enjoyed the frogs & lizards by the creek and all the little fish in it. Woodpeckers visited every morning with great birding all day long. Stargazing while hot tubbing was amazing. We also enjoyed the farm goats, geese, chickens, and doggies, too. Just bring your groceries, no need to leave. The house and property are wonderful. The house is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. The creek was amazing! The property is super clean, spacious and beautifully designed. We visited the creek, the current was running strong but the view was amazing. We enjoyed interacting with all the animals (hens, baby chicks, goats, horses...and the sweetest dogs Penny and Nova!) Jody and Lisa are super hosts! They are very friendly and thoughtful. The loft with big screen TV was great for the kids to have their own space at times during the day, and there were many DVDs that were family friendly. The beds are comfortable and the window shades are blackout style to help with sleeping in. During the winter the hot water made it through the pipes pretty quickly and the water pressure is really good in the showers. The property is pretty big (10 acres?) to explore and the goats and hens are fun to see everyday. The owners have provided everything a family might need during vacation. The farm itself was relaxing and a lot of fun for our kids, who enjoyed seeing the goats, petting the cat, and playing in the waterfall. Those with mobility issues would probably find the grounds challenging, and those with really little kids might need to avoid the waterfall for safety reasons. The home was beautiful with a chef like kitchen and a vegetable garden to pick from! The deck was an extension of the house where we ate meals and could enjoy hearing the river below. The stargazing was incredible! The lower deck by the falls was as pretty as the creeks at Lassen National Park nearby. We had our adult children with us and it was the perfect size to accommodate everyone. Hosts, Jody and Matthew, were wonderful to work with. They had a bottle of local wine for us when we arrived. As one reviewer mentioned, the pictures don't do justice to the property. The private waterfalls and swimming holes were a great treat. Every morning we sat on the porch for our morning coffee, watching the chicken and goats meander by; woodpeckers feeding their young; humming birds (lots of them) humming around; Novah the dog on his good morning rounds. Truly one of the most special places we’ve come across. Our kids were thrilled to collect eggs from the free-roaming chickens, to feed the nice goats. Those were their (non river) highlights along with the big hot tub, corn hole and multiple board games to be found. The house is pretty much perfect - dream kitchen with all the accoutrements, big comfy beds, beautiful beams and high ceilings, electric piano, big couches, and lot of useable outdoor entertaining space. And then…there is the spectacular river/river deck. Private river access with a grill, full dining table, and lounge chairs. Amazing swimming holes and even the perfect path to a separate quiet river entrance for the toddler/preschool aged kiddos. We cannot wait to return to this gem! ##### Morgan S. The ad and pictures are indeed accurate. This is a lovely home in a picturesque area (in spite of the occasional smokiness from the Dixie fire.) The house is extremely well-appointed, with everything you need. I really appreciated the full kitchen with all the cookware, cooking oils, and a well-alphabetized well-stocked spice cabinet. Jody (and Matthew) was a very friendly host, providing us with freshly-laid eggs, fresh-picked tomatoes, cucumbers, pluots, and plums. The water level in the creek was a tad less than in the pictures, but there was still plenty of water below the falls to swim in. (It being a drought, I wasn't sure there would be ANY water.) This was a wonderful place to come back to and relax after a day of hiking in Lassen Volcanic NP or checking out the sights in Redding. ##### Brian V. My family and I had an amazing time at this property, one of the best we've stayed at yet! Everything from the cozy, yet spacious home, to the goats, chickens, hummingbirds, and garden, to the beautiful private river, waterfall, swim holes and river deck...it was absolutely amazing and we had the best time being tucked away from everything and enjoying the beauty of nature. Jody and Matthew were wonderful hosts, and although they stayed right next door, they were helpful yet gave us complete privacy and were not intrusive in the least. They were kind enough to take our kids out into the garden to pick fresh strawberries and veggies, to feed the goats and collect the fresh eggs from the chickens...our kids loved it! To keep this review fair, some of the minor things to take note of is that the refrigerator does not make ice very quickly, even when at it's coldest setting. With the weather being 100+ degrees, if you plan on taking an ice chest out to the river, you may have to haul in ice from a nearby store. I would suggest even just having a couple of ice trays available to make your own ice. Also, ants...there are so many ants in the kitchen. This is understandable because of the location of the home and so many trees outside.. Just make sure to not leave anything out on the counters or the kitchen table, because they can get out of control. Lastly, I personally don't like to live out of a suitcase, even if just for a few days. This home has zero closet space for your personal clothes/items, and no dresser drawers either. So you will have to live out of your suitcase, or lay your stuff around all over your room wherever you can. It's manageable, but for me it was a little rough. I still give this home 5 stars because all the positive outweighed the minor negative details by a whole lot. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a private location, surrounded by nature and the sound of the river, away from crowds and large towns and technology! ##### PATRICIA R. To begin with, it's hosted and lovingly cared for by an incredibly warm and generous person. The house is stunning. The kitchen is set up for people who really like to cook.
