Rustic hillside retreat
We had a big problem with hundreds (literally) of dead and dying flies and ladybugs inside the house. We vacuumed them up at leasts 5 times in 2 days. The upstairs queen bed is very uncomfortable. Both showers are outdated and have low water pressure. Slow wifi. Coffee maker provided but no filters that fit and no coffee. Very few amenities. We asked for a partial cleaning refund and were denied.

Just Being Nitpicky
5 Stars for the stay, 3 Star accommodation. LOW towel count, need more bathrooms, water pressure low because pipes in house are too small. As for the bathrooms one up stairs in bedroom, one downstairs shares with bedroom [no lock for this door] and there are 4 more sleeping space up stairs. The pool table and Dart board were unusable [better to not have them] need anti-skid strips on steep inclined steps from main floor to second floor [my daughter slipped and butt slide down 4 steps, she was unharmed] make oth space in carport available [owner storing lumber]

Spacious yet cozy
The property and home are amazing with many antiques, nooks, and beautiful views from the wrap around deck. Well appointed kitchen to prepare for family meals around the gorgeous dinning room table. A couple of minor issues in the kitchen include fridge running too cold, even at the lowest setting, and vent over stove not working. Bathrooms, especially the showers, are small with low water pressure on the first floor. Despite these couple of areas, I’d highly recommend this home to others looking for a ski get away or hikers year round.

A week wasn’t long enough
We loved everything about our stay. The house was beautiful, very clean, and very well equipped. The location was perfect for us to take lovely hikes each day and eat in nice restaurants almost every night. The setting was private and peaceful. We hope to return again next year. Thanks for having us.

Cosy & quiet with views of the mountains. Great for unplugged ski trip..
Very clean and cosy house with tons of open living space. Some might call it "dated", I prefer "homely". The theme is lots of exposed wood and antique features. The lighting is interesting - there are more than a dozen lamps scattered around the large living area, which creates a really charming ambience in the evenings. Fittings and appliances are old-school - smallish TV, eccentric showers, bad internet. But the stove and dishwasher (and washer / dryer) are up to date and in perfect condition. Another modern feature - electronic blinds. Clearly the owners have put a lot of love into this house. It was a bit like visiting with an older uncle who is very into woodwork and getting things properly squared away. We rented this house for a 3-night ski trip to Bretton Woods. BW is about 25mins easy drive from this house. The road and driveway had been ploughed, but watch out for ruts. Accessibility note: you have to climb about a dozen uneven stone steps to get up to the house. The staircase to the upper level is a bit slippery and has open steps - not easy for the very young or very old, and definitely something to warn rambunctious kids against running on. The folks at Vacasa were very responsive - when I reported that the downstairs shower wasn't working, they had someone out the next day who fixed it. More Pros: Warm! Great views of White mountains Quiet neighbourhood Pool table and dart board are fairly battered, so we were happy to let the kids try them without fear of damage. Cons: internet was very flaky during our stay. Sometimes rebooting the wifi router helped. Dish TV didn't seem to be working - we never got the larger upstairs TV to connect to anything. No big deal. Master bedroom mattress needs updating - it sags noticeably in the middle. Upstairs shower is teeny, tall people will struggle. Similarly, the beds are rather small (esp the second bedroom). Tips: Google maps brought us short of the address. You want the driveway with 2 square brick pillars, and take the left fork. Bring your own firewood and firestarters (no working lighters/ matches on site). Note for skiiers: no mud room.
