Located near to Poor Knights Dive Centres

Pros: Location to Dive Centres, quiet and friendly staff
Cons: Firmer mattress
Location: Diving, Snorkelling
Rooms are generally comfortable and spacious , although the bed mattress is too soft for me. Excellent location if you’re diving the Poor Knights with Yukon Divers or Dive Tutukaka

Good, big room overlooking sea.

Pros: Roomy, close to facilities, good food (had breakfast there both days). Welcoming and easy to book and deal with payment etc.
Cons: See above
Location: Central location. Excellent.
Very enjoyable stay. Only thing I can find fault with is that a staff member walked into the lift in front of us. I'm a stickler for manners and thought it a bit rude. At our floor, she again didn't let us out first. A minor fault but it all adds to the overall image.

Oh Dear, Should have been so much better !

Thank-you for the complimentary breakfast in response to our unacceptable booking experience. Craig (General Manager) told us we should never been allocated our ‘under external renovation’ room (plastic sheeting and scaffolding across the widows of a room that was advertised as having a garden view) – YET Craig was the one that checked us in on arrival. No mention of renovations on website. In-room compendium had breakfast at $10 in main text and then $12 on attached restaurant menu. Having decided on dinner preferences we were blindsided on arriving at the restaurant to find the menu was completely changed – New Caterers started a few days earlier. No-one apparently has the foresight to update the online restaurant menu nor the in-room compendium. Days after our visit the online menu remains outdated. Tutukaka is an international tourist destination and it is disheartening to see that the issues we raised have been brushed aside with a complimentary breakfast. Good old kiwi She’ll Be Right.

Hi Adam Thanks for your valuable feedback,as discussed with you from arrival we were on the back foot and struggled to recover, I would like to offer my sincere apologies again. I contacted your room not long after you checked in to offer a room move to an upgraded Marina facing room.The request for breakfast was asked for during the discussion which I already had in mind including the upgrade. The offer of a room move and upgrade was declined, I followed up with you on check out the following morning and again extended my apologies that your stay had not met our usual standards and acknowledging fault that the hotel had got it wrong. The menu was upgraded on line and in the rooms the day after your stay, thanks for the heads up, much appreciated. The only possible reason that I can think of for not seeing this change when you went on line is that most computers "cache" information, unless you refresh the browser this may be a possible reason as to why you still noticed the old menu on your screen. On windows systems you delete your browser history and then hit the refresh button, let me know if it works for you. I would like to offer you a complimentary one night stay to replace the night that we disappointed you, please can I ask you to contact me at the hotel to make arrangements should you wish to take this offer up. I would welcome the opportunity to put things right and show you some true "Coast" hospitality....apologies again for getting it wrong. Kind regards Craig Walker General Manager

Nice hotel opposite the marina.

Pros: Comfortable with good king size bed and friendly staff
Cons: Dining room in hotel needs upgrading.
Good location, Schnappa Rock restaurant only a few minutes walk away was very good.

View disappointing bath shower only---no aids re handles and safety bath mat No biscuits in room Room atmosphere very utilitarian and lacked imagination with decor Comfortable and warm No menu in room

The ony place to stay in Tutakaka.

Pros: The upgrade was really appreciated. The location is great.
Cons: The warmth in the dining area - a bit cool. The TV's were not user friendly, ours 'died' after an hour. Couldnot use the radio because of the static.
Location: Its all about the big game fishing or a base for daytrips up and down the stunning coast.
Checkin was efficiant and the lovely guy at the desk gave us an upgrade when I expressed disappointment that we were looking at the Marina.

Such a lovely quiet place to stay. Amazing breakfast. We had a room overlooking the marina lots of space. Tranquil.
