Good hotel for the price, but not 5*

Posted 24-Apr-2016
Checkin in was smoothly processed and staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, the room was rather basic for a 5* rated hotel, with no hot water in one of the bathroom sinks and the room was starting to look outdated and well worn. Breakfast included was of a good quality and the location right on Plett beach is fantastic, though it is about a five minute drive to the main restaurants in the town. Plenty of parking provided as well.

Nice Hotel close to the beach, ideal for surfing.

Great place to stay for easy access to the beach and a short drive to the town centre. Very comfortable and secure location. Staff very helpful.

Brilliant location, not that great for kids/family

Posted 13-Apr-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Facilities and provision for families and children (0 - 5 years old)
Location: Beach is superb and one minute's walk. Drive into town for all other things (food, shopping etc) that Plettenberg bay has to offer
Superb location and amazing welcome on arrival. Room was wonderful, clean and hotel was safe / secure. Disappointment followed swiftly when there was no baby cot (we had requested this), no high chair at meal times and no real effort to cater towards our children (amenities, food or otherwise).

Old outdated and smelly

Posted 26-Mar-2016
The cottage pie building is old and outdated. The bathroom sinks are cracking, the sewage smells in the drain are awful. The wifi is non-existent outside of the main building. The stairs to our room were small and slippery. The patio table was falling apart. The positives: Very friendly staff Beautiful beach across the street Rooftop deck and bar were very nice (new building)

Strandhotel in guter Lage

Posted 17-Mar-2016
Pros: Strandlage

Certainly not a luxury establishment

Posted 23-Feb-2016 on Hotels
Room was certainly not luxury. Situated off car park. Did not feel safe. Bathroom was dirty. TV would not turn off. Air con was too noisy to sleep. Could not get WiFi in room. Breakfast was inedible. Coffee stewed. Staff unfriendly. Could not remain more than one night. But was charged for three! An expensive bad hotel. The worst we stayed at in SA. Would not recommend to anyone.

What a pleasure

I only stayed one night and wish it could have been longer. It was a beautiful, quiet, spacious hotel. Breakfast was excellent, except it only starts at 8am, and even the the croissants were not ready -not even by 8h30. Other than that, it was an absolutely lovely stay.
