joyable few nights in Harmanous
This is a friendly B&B that are so popular is SA. All rooms have great views of the sea and would offer excellent viewing during the season when whales are in the bay. It is also a nice walk into the town centre where there are plenty of restaurants. The room has traditional decoration which is well maintained and clean. Everyone is very friendly and helpful to make the most of your visit. The room does not come with air conditioning, so we found the room a little warm at night, but this is a personal preference. Overall a very pleasing and welcoming stay.

Good day David, I hope you had a wonderful holiday in South Africa, and hopefully a lot of good games of golf. Thank you so much for your lovely review, it is greatly appreciated. Regarding the aircons, we are under a lot of pressure from the European tourism companies to be ecco friendly and this we have to put in reports as to how we manage our Green Policy and unfortunately Air Conditioning is not in line with this. So we have substituted this with fans and luckily we only need this for a couple of night for the whole year that we have very hot weather, it's just unlucky that you were here on one of those nights. We do have portable air cons available. All the very best to you both, and hope you have a wonderful year ahead. Charmaine

Lovely property only a short walk from the town center. The owner and staff were very friendly and could not be more welcoming. We were on a 1 month tour, and this was the warmest welcome of any of hotels we stayed at. We would happily recommend to other.

The property was right across the street from the ocean. You could see the ocean from the bedroom, breakfast room. If there were whales there you would have been able to see them. Such a charming place. Breakfast was great. You can’t help but fall in love with the place.

Coastal peace in busy Hermanus
Very pleasant and helpful management team. Our room was spacious and well furnished with king size bed open view to the sea immediately across the road wirh access to the paved coast path. Wonderful choices for cooked breakfast. Secure parking at rear of property. More than one communal lounge areas and an honesty bar. Away from the bustle of the town centre but close enough to good restaurants. 4 star rating is justified.

This is a wonderful hotel with a gorgeous view and lovely location. The staff could not have been more welcoming and the breakfast more delicious. The rooms were spacious and the amenities were terrific. I loved the lotion....best ever. Our view from the ground floor was wonderful.

Beautiful view spacious rooms
Beautiful property with big spacious rooms. Every room has a sea view. The breakfast was amazing. There are beautiful spots in the property like the pool area with swings and the library. Beautiful artwork and handicrafts throughout the property which give you a nice feel of being in a beach town. The property is close to some great seafood restaurants in the town and is also very close to whale watching tours. I would highly recommend this place and am looking forward to re-visiting the place myself.

Great Location
This is a B&B done right. All rooms face the ocean with a view. Staff is very professional and friendly. I felt I was staying at someones beautiful home with my own very private room just off the very spacious living room. I stayed in a lower room which was slightly cheaper, but the view was great! I'd book that room again! This is a B&B worth remembering.

Perfect for a stopover on the coast
We enjoyed our stay very much. The room is spacious, the staff friendly and the breakfast was very generous for being a guest house. The house is nicely located overlooking the cliffs (with the road inbetween), there is a path accross the road that goes all the way to the village, it takes about 20-25 minutes.

Lovely surprise
This accommodation was a gorgeous guest house. The service from Charmaine and Hylton the owners was fantastic, they showed so much hospitality and I loved hearing about to their adventure travel stories! The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Location was great, we were right opposite the ocean and a 1 minute drive to town. You can also walk to town via the coastal walk which would be beautiful during the summer months and I am sure fantastic during whale watching season.

Seit 10 Jahren ist das B&B "On the Cliff" unsere regelmässige Adresse in Hermanus. Aus der Suite im oberen Stockwerk lassen sich in der Saison die Wale aus jedem Zimmer beobachten !

La chambre etait correcte mais il y avait une odeur désagréable dans la salle de bain. L'accueil est un peu "guindé", ce qui se ressens également au petit dejeuner. Dommage pas de mini bar ds la chambre (pas pratique de ne pouvoir mettre au frais une bouteille achetée ds les winesland tout proche). La vue est jolie de la salle du petit déjeuner. En résumé, un peu déçue pour le prix.

Under de tider av året när man kan se valar i Hermanus är detta sannolikt det perfekta boendet då man kan se valar från rummet. Läget är utanför Hemanus centrum men det är möjligt att gå dit på ca en kvart (området är säkert att gå i). Längs kusten finns en promenadstig bland klipporna. Rummet var bra men vid vårt besök var det fuktigt och ganska kallt inomhus. Detta var visserligen en ganska kall och fuktig dag men det var ett minus. Bra frukost och bra och hjälpsam service.

Zimmer doppelt vergeben, insges. wenig ansprechend
Abends bei der Ankunft wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass das Zimmer doppelt vergeben wurde und für uns leider kein Platz war. Eine alternative Unterkunft im Ortszentrum wurde zwar angeboten. Das Vorgehen war insgesamt inakzeptabel. Von außen und im Eingangsbereich wirkte das Guesthouse renovierungsbedürftig und für den vergleichsweise hohen Preis deutlich zu wenig ansprechend und zu dunkel.
