Perfect location to spend the holidays with family and friends. Lots of room and a short walk to the beach, which you can see from the sunroom. Older home with neat history. House was clean with a nice size lot in a quiet neighborhood. Hostess was very accommodating and responsive. Enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure.
Everything was perfect! Floating chairs in garage and wagon made it great for the beach! Love the cement walkway to beach. Property manager Fern promptly answered my questions and was very kind with my requests! Would love to stay here again!
IT is a located near the beach in a nice little neighborhood with plenty of good restaurants and shopping nearby. A comfortable house for a family to share.
Great spot, easy to get to. Very quiet and friendly neighborhood. Loved being in a house with a large yard instead of a cottage with a minuscule patch of grass. Lots of room and very clean.
My husband is already considering it for next year!
Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Lots of history and places to be explored. Beautiful, well kept, very clean, cozy and equipped home. We loved the place and hope to come back soon with the rest of the family specially during summer.
Beautiful house walking distance from the Atlantic Ocean. Fern was a wonder host. House came with everything you need from kitchen supplies to linen and even board games and outdoor furniture. Enjoy the history that comes with the house.

cozy family home
extremely well stocked kitchen--, with everything you could need. house had many nooks and crannies with hidden delights; from antiques the family had collected over the years to games for kids.
quiet and private area with nice beach to walk on.
Property was just as expected. Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed to cook and go to the beach. It included beach towels, beach chairs, and umbrella. Very quite neighborhood. All homes well kept with lots of pretty flowers.
We recently stayed at this wonderful beach house. The house was clean and comfortable with updated bathrooms. The unexpected part was the setting. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with open backyards and a private walk to the beach area. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beach with the grandkids collecting treasures or playing and enjoying the backyard. We will gladly rent this house in the future.
Thank you Fern! Your beautiful property enabled my family of 5 (4 adults and a 1 year old) to have a wonderful Christmas in a “home away from home”. The furnishings and decorating gave the home a warm cozy feel. Also very nice to have baby gates, high chair etc for my grandson. Everything worked perfectly for us!
Needed a place to stay for a family reunion and this house was great. Lots of room and a great location. House had everything you could possibly need. Tons of baby stuff which is a huge help when traveling with a baby so I didn’t have to bring all that extra stuff. Owner was exciting deal with and would response right away. She was very accommodating to anything that we needed! Thanks so much for a great stay!
We were in the area for our adult child's graduation from law school. What a comfortable place for five adults and one dog to come home to after events and festivities. We enjoyed gathering in the porch area as it rained gently. Gathering on the side lawn for gift giving when the sun came out. Snuggling on the comfy living room furniture in the evening to watch a show or sporting event.Walking to the water, and even taking a cold dip! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to make brunch. I felt so at ease and at home here. Fern was quick to respond to any question or request. It was a hard place to leave.
This was the perfect place to stay over the long Columbus Day weekend. From check-in to check-out, everything was wonderful. I actually think that it was better than what the photos portray. The kitchen was generously stocked with spices, condiments, and all of the cooking equipment any foodie would need. The house is located in a quiet and well maintained neighborhood just a block from the beach. Old Saybrook is just down the main street to the east. We felt right at home and will definitely consider this Westbrook house when we visit southeastern Connecticut again. Thanks Fern!

Wonderful time
Had a fantastic time. House completely equipped with everything needed. Spotless when we arrived. AC was on and worked well on the 90 + days. Extended family 3 - 72 enjoyed the beach, much like Maine. We launched the canoe several times and explored the salt mash on the far left of the beach. Older children enjoyed swimming out to "Whale Rock" and jumping off at high tide. Fern's welcome book was very complete and helpful. Neighbors very friendly with suggestions also. Wonderful time had by all. Be sure to return next year.

Quaint, cozy home in charming summer community
We loved our stay here and appreciate Fern's prompt and warm communication. Everything was as described and as we expected. There are four similarly sized bedrooms upstairs, with one shared full bathroom with shower. Downstairs there is another large bathroom with a tub (no shower). There is laundry in the mudroom/entry, and an outdoor shower to use when in season. The kitchen and dining room provided ample space, as did the living room with comfortable chairs, a fireplace and a sizable dining table, plus an enclosed porch. All in all, there was plenty of room for our family of 5 to spread out, and we enjoyed every aspect of the house. It was a rainy weekend, but we did walk down to the beach along the path just outside the house, through a large grassy area. It was peaceful and picturesque. The streets are quiet and the homes well-kept in this quaint, seaside neighborhood. Thank you Fern!

Marvelous house for a family with many adult members
Gathering family from various parts of the country is never simple, but Fern's house proved to be a wonderful place where we could gather folks for casual coffee mornings, evening games and walks down to the beach - all in Dec! Having 4 bedrooms, 2 with Queen beds, one double, and bunkbeds allowed for adults, and adult children to have suitable space for sleeping in comfort. With both a smaller kitchen table and larger dining table in separate areas we even managed to accommodate 16 for drop in visiting. The kitchen was well-equipped for larger groups and my West Coast family was charmed by the clever closets built into the knotty pine walls. The sun porch and the central grassy area leading through the community to the beach appears to be a prime area for summer and warmer weather fun and easy to set up a croquet game or other family fun. Another tidbit - while this is not a house for a handicapped person, my mother who uses a walker was able with help to climb the few steps and enjoy some family time there as well. With only 2 small bathrooms we had to coordinate the timing of 6 showers on a few occasions but were able to manage satisfactorily. The thick binder of information was helpful in some of our decision making. Some locally published historical accounts of the area and the families originally developing this small planned community proved fascinating and added to our appreciation. As we spent most of our time with family in the Chester area we didn't have much time for exploring Westbrook and Old Saybrook but both looked like charming towns. I highly recommend this house and hope to visit in summer some time. Thanks Fern for your advance information as well.
