As you wind up the paved drive, you will find 4+ acres at this private estate that looks down on West Jefferson. Take in the seasonal mountain and town views while your cares melt away. Inside this upscale modern farmhouse, you will find a relaxing atmosphere in every room. The spacious kitchen features stainless appliances and solid surface countertops. A cozy breakfast nook is located off the kitchen. It offers a coffee bar complete with Keurig coffeemaker and gas log fireplace for warming up by on a cool Carolina Mountain morning. Enjoy your freshly prepared meal and a glass of wine in the dining room with seating for 6\. Featuring walnut wainscotting and French doors that lead outside to an inviting deck, this dining room is elegant and warm at the same time. Just off the dining room is the living room complete with a cozy gas fireplace, comfy seating for at least eight and a wall mounted Smart TV. The front door leads to a rocking chair front porch when you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee while enjoying the views. Also, on the main level featuring high ceilings are two bedrooms and a full hall bath. Both bedrooms feature comfy king size beds and smart TVs for your viewing pleasure. The front bedroom also offers access to the front porch. The full bath features a shower and tub combo. Climb the stairs to the second level and you will find a spacious office space, hall bath, kids’ bedroom and an ensuite master. Wi-Fi is provided throughout the home and for those that need to work there’s also a desk. The ensuite master features a king size bed, soaking tub, stand-up shower, and access to a private balcony. The kids’ bedroom features two twin beds and a double bed complete with smart TV so they can watch their favorite streaming shows. There is also a laundry room complete with washer and dryer for your convenience on the second level. Outside, you will find a stone patio complete with firepit for roasting marshmallows or just spending a quiet evening under a starry sky. Just steps away from the main house is the spacious studio style guest house decorated in the same luxury farmhouse style. Complete with seating, a comfy king bed, kitchen and bath with step-in shower, this guest house will accommodate two people. A Smart TV is provided as well along with Wi-Fi. If you do wish to venture out, West Jefferson offers numerous restaurants, breweries, shops, and antique stores. You can walk downtown, and watch cheese being made at Ashe County Cheese, the only cheese factory in North Carolina or catch a movie. Take in the gorgeous Churches of Frescoes with painting by Ben Long. Spend the day hiking Mount Jefferson (only a five-minute drive) or head to the Blue Ridge Parkway just a short ten-minute drive away. If you wish to ski, head to Appalachian Ski Mountain (45-minute drive), Beech Mountain (1 hour and 15 minutes) or Sugar Mountain (1 hour). A terrific retreat walking distance to downtown West Jefferson. Multiple decks, gathering areas, quiet reading spots, fire pits and well stocked as well. ##### Steve S. Rehersal dinner was at Craft Bistro in town. Friends an family from around the country were in and we thoroughly enjoyed the ability to walk to breweries and restaurants in town while still enjoying an isolated setting. The driveway entrance is not very intuitive coming off the street as you actually turn into and pass through a used car lot to get to it. Once you figure yhat out, it is very easy. Super clean and well appointed home. We could live there year-round! The garage apartment was a huge benefit with separste bath and kitchen. Firepits were great though the one nearest the house was enveloped in tree limbs less than 8 ft avove the flames. These should be trimmed to prevent setting them alight. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back. ##### Christine Z. This property was absolutely wonderful and perfect for us as we enjoyed wedding festivities and came back to relax at beautiful Walnut Hill. I fell in love with this home. It is so charming, decorated beautifully, and gorgeous views all within minutes of tge center of town. It feels private and secluded with convenience to shopping and resturants.
