"Surprisingly lovely pub given town centre location. Berr gardens is a real treat, lovely interior and reasonably priced food and drink.
Room was everything you needed- very spacious, plenty of tea/coffee toiltries. Loved the early breakfast set-up, all laid out ready the you are- great for us as we're always up at stupid o'clock and wanted to get back on the road early.
Really pleasant stay, ideally located for the races- highly recommend."

"First off the staff were lovely and so helpful.
The hotel itself could do with more attention to detail - we got a free room upgrade but only because the toilet seat came off in our hands first use.
Second room was very spacious but there wete issues - its an old building so we were expecting uneven floors - leaking showers not so much, flickering lights when first switched on. "Another great stay at the Crown & Garter. Friendly helpful check in & room was very comfortable & spotless as usual.
Had a meal with family in the evening & can definitely recomnend eating here - food is excellent, using local ingredients.
Had bacon rolls to takeaway on checkout, which was a nice surprise.
Looking forward to our next stay - we wouldn't go anywhere else when visiting the area."
