A fabulous, newly renovated cottage for Autumn 2023 on the outskirts of Wells, a city recently voted the best in the UK, September 2023, from which to explore this wonderful part of the country.. Ground Floor:

Sitting-out area with garden furniture and barbecue. Large field area. Private parking for 4 cars. No smoking or e-cigarettes.. Welcome to Chestnut Cottage, a charming holiday retreat, newly renovated for autumn 2023, nestled in the heart of Somerset on the outskirts of the city of Wells in the village of Coxley Wick, a hamlet of Coxley, off the main road and surrounded by the beauty of the countryside. This delightful cottage offers a comfortable and homely ambiance for your holiday with public transport and country walkways in to Wells just 2 miles away as well as good accessibility to Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury, Clarks Village Outlet and wider Somerset tourist attractions.  
  
As you step into Chestnut Cottage, head upstairs to the first floor, where a large open plan living space awaits. The living area boasts large floor-to-ceiling windows that bathe the room in natural light and provide picturesque views of the lawned garden, allowing you to relax and unwind while immersing yourself in the tranquil surroundings. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with modern amenities, making it a joy for any culinary enthusiast to prepare delicious meals. The first floor also features two inviting bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed and another with twin beds, providing ample space for families or small groups of friends. A well-appointed family bathroom completes the first floor’s accommodation, offering all the necessary comforts. On the ground floor, a handy toilet ensures extra convenience during your stay. The utility room, equipped with a washing machine, offers practicality for longer visits.  
  
Step outside, and you’ll discover a private seating area with a charming table and chairs, providing the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening meal amidst the fresh air. Guests also have sole use of field adjacent to property which includes a picnic bench, an excellent space for children to play freely or for guests to unwind with a book, picnic or BBQ. The village of Coxley has a playing field and children’s play area, accessed via footpath close to property for added activity for younger guests.  
  
As you venture into Wells, you’ll find a delightful array of activities and attractions to explore. Visit the iconic Wells Cathedral, a stunning masterpiece of Gothic architecture with intricate carvings and an awe-inspiring interior. Take a leisurely stroll along the Bishops Palace Gardens, where the serene moat and lush greenery create a serene atmosphere. Wells is a favourite for major television productions including Hot Fuzz, Dungeons and Dragon and Wolf Hall. For those seeking a cultural experience, the Wells and Mendip Museum offers a fascinating insight into the history of the area.
