The house itself was a disappointment. When we arrived it was not cleaned as I would expect and have experienced with other vacation rentals. The sheets had hairs in them, the towels were sour smelling and “crunchy”. The kitchen island was not cleaned. The floors had previous quests trash on them in the primary bedroom and one of the secondary bedrooms. The primary shower door was not clean. The host did promptly credit us back 400 to cover this since we had to wash sheets and clean up a bit to feel more comfortable. We have owned vacation rentals, managed a few ourselves and have stayed in many. These are the things I would do to ensure guest satisfaction: Repair hanging smoke detector in one of the secondary bedrooms, repair the primary master bath shower drain, freshly paint over all scuff marks (walls were very dirty & worn) clean the secondary bedroom that had bugs smushed on wall, add lamps in all bedrooms and living room, replace all the towels! Add a bath mat to the primary shower area, add kitchen hand towels, replace broken can opener, wash the oven mitts. Clean and freshly paint front door, replace dirty and worn rugs at front door and double doors leading to the deck. Replace bulbs or light fixture in laundry room so a person can see. Ensure that there is actually enough laundry detergent to wash the towel load you requested we do at checkout. ##### Amanda W. The king bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were perfect, so it was easy to relax and fall asleep each night. The location is a short drive into Weaverville where we got our groceries and visited Weaverville's nature preserve and Lake Louise for us to enjoy with our dogs (and it seems the entire area surrounding Asheville is dog-friendly, so we frequently took them on our excursions). We spent the day at the Biltmore, another exploring Asheville's River Arts District, another in downtown Asheville, and the farthest we visited was Sierra Nevada's restaurant and brewery (about 35-40 min, but we encountered some heavy traffic along the way). Overall the house is in an ideal locale for all the activities we had pre-planned, and although the narrow private road leading up to the house requires driving carefully (i.e., slow), it's great if you're like me and want the nature and views without having to drive up to a remote mountain location that seems to take forever getting to and from. With the huge back deck and separate deck with a fire pit, you have more than enough space to hang around the house if you prefer to stay in and just enjoy the outdoor air. We were lucky that the weather was nearly perfect during our entire stay, and cloudless nights allowed for some awesome star gazing. ##### Voyageur vérifié Séjour de 6 nuits en septembre 2022 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### paula s. 21 août 2022 Points forts : Propreté #### Beautiful house The house was in prestine shape, very clean, organize and well stocked. The kitchen had a nice supply of breakfast goodies, which was nice because we arrived late in the evening. My family of 5, and a infant had plenty of space. (A pack-n-play and high chair where provided, both in great shape) The stairs are pretty steep for little ones or older folks who have difficulty getting around. The is house is remote but not far from a Publix . We traveled into Ashville daily, no big deal. Make sure to get good instructions for finding the house, difficult to find and a real challenge at night. But I think it is well worth the effort. ##### paula s.
