"Paradise Cove property and crew are absolutely top notch. It was our first time in Fiji and we will surely return. We arrived by boat and returned by heli. Both fun experiences. If you are getting on the boat after a ling flight get a ticked to the Captain’s Lounge where you’ll find couch seating more easily to get some sleep. Reception had our room ready as soon as we arrived (11am) which is such a nice touch after a long flight from US. The Donu(?) (japanese themed) restaurant is top notch. Omakase is a 5-start experience, did not expect it to be so good. We visited with kids and they found plenty to do. Recommend the night snorkeling activity (for grownups). "

"If you've done your homework and you know what to expect when you arrive, this place is excellent for a few days away. The staff are so friendly and helpful - they get to know you by name almost immediately. For a place with dozens of people coming and going every week, that's a really nice touch, so thank you Rosa, Mika, Ropate, Taveki, Save, and so many more. We stayed in the beachfront villa so I can't speak to the quality of other accommodations, but we were happy with the room. The shower was open to the sky but we didn't have problems with bugs in the room or anything. Just keep the door closed most of the time. Being able to sit in a beach hammock and watch the sunrise was fantastic. The main guest lounge near the beach has drinks and snacks, along with easy access to the dive shop, activity bure, and plenty of places to relax. The quality of the meals was one of our favourite things of all, and we always left the dining area feeling satisfied. Some things to note (not bad things, just good to know): - not all drinks are included with the meal plan. Water is drinkable around the resort and morning coffee/juice up in the dining area is free, but everything else ranges from $6.50-$25 depending on what you get. - the resort is built onto a hillside, so you'll be climbing up and down some paths and stairs a few times every day. - you can get cell data on site with a Fiji e-SIM. Overall we loved it. Go to disconnect, relax, eat well, and enjoy the sea around you. "

"Absolutely amazing beach and location! Stayed for 5 night in points villa #3, what a lovely accommodation! Resort property is charming and well maintained. We did not have any issues and concerns, even it was a bit a construction close to a restaurant and second bar was closed, that did not bother us it all. Great dining options, dinner is a like a cruise ship style with chef's specials and all dishes are well presented. All staff is extremely friendly. Special thanks to all service stuff for keeping our villa spotless, main Chef who was making sure we had a great lobster dinner (ordered separately) experience and guys from dive shop who provided a seamless boat tender transportation and snorkeling trips (I definitely recommend night snorkeling). I will absolutely recommend Octopus resort to my family and friends!"

"I'm writing this from the Tokoriki restaurant which abuts a calm sea with a view of the island where Tom Hanks hung out with a volleyball in Castaway. But it is not the view (which is spectacular), or the large villas right on the beach (which are amazing) that make this place a 5-star experience. What makes this place a 5-star paradise is the staff. Somehow EVERYONE knows your name immediately. This in itself is quite a feat because the staff outnumbers the guests. (Someone really knows their Dale Carnagie!) They greet every guest with a welcome song and announce every guest's departure at dinner accompanied by a good-bye song. It rained quite a bit while we were here, but we did sneak in some incredible snorkling just yards from the hotel. My only tiny complaint is that it would be nice if they offered some relevant exercise classes--I'm thinking like yoga or mindfulness--but I imagine that is on the way since they are in the process now of building a gym. As I'm writing this another helicopter just landed carrying new guests...can't wait to see their reaction when the entire staff shows up to welcome them!"

"Bill and his family have opened their home so that we could experience a little bit more about daily life in the islands of Fiji. This is not a resort stay, but that wasn’t what we wanted. They taught us so much about graciousness in the face of need, respect for others, faith in community, and humility for what they are blessed with every day. Most of what they have comes either from the mountain or from the sea. They garden, they fish, and they share. They don’t take more than they need. The fishing on Saturday was for the whole village, so that they could worship on Sunday. We donated supplies for the village school. That morning Bill organized kids into a beach-cleaning work detail. He said that it was important for the kids to learn to give, before they receive. What an amazing concept in any culture. We went out to swim with the sharks. “One of us” isn’t a thrill seeker, but finally got in the water. Our mantra when we got home? Grandma touched a shark! Yes, we paid Paula for her homecooked meals. Yes, we paid Bill for the airport to island transfers. And, yes, they made the whole experience memorable. Thanks for sharing your home, your family, your culture, and your community. Give Eva a big hug."
