We had an updated room. Everything looked brand new. It was very clean, and they allow pets with no add'l charge.
Hard beds, loooooow water pressure, room was really small.
Not too bad for $63 total which was the best we could find this night. I'd stay again for a night but no more than 1 night at a time if I ended up in this area again. Got to San Diego the next night and got a room at Red Roof Inn for the same price that included iron/ironing board, fridge, microwave, hair drier, more comfortable beds and continental breakfast.

The direct TV would not get a signal one evening. We called the front desk & the young man working said he would be right up. After 10 minutes he called back to say a big party had just walked in & he would be up as soon as he could. We liked the idea he was honest & would come. In 15 minutes he fixed the TV & we were watching as soon it warmed up. Very pleasant & personable worker! All the staff were very friendly! I would definitely stay there again!
"Cheaper than Santa Cruz if you don't mind a drive "
I stayed two nights here. It's just next to the highway near Watsonville but I didn't notice any road noise. About 25 minutes drive to Santa Cruz boardwalk, which is really why you'd stay here... There's nothing exciting about Watsonville. Not that the hotel is even in Watsonville. It's located next to the highway. The shops in Watsonville that you're likely to want to go to (Safeway, fast food etc) are still 10-15 minutes drive away. But if you're looking to save a few $ on accomodation this is a good choice. Room was comfortable, spacious. Bed was nice. Bathroom was pretty good too. Air conditioner works well. Wifi was fast. Room had fridge and microwave and coffee maker. TV was flat screen with heaps and heaps of channels.
The pool area was pretty uninviting though. There is no guest laundry either. And on returning to my room after the first night I was locked out (my key cards didn't work) I had to go back to front desk to get them re swiped. It was a little annoying and the front desk clerk seemed like I was bothering him by asking for help getting back into my room.

This is a no frills place to sleep, and maybe watch TV. The furnishings are a bit sad, the one duvet was a little thin, although warm enough. I'm not a fan of big ploofy pillows, but in that area, this place is like some finer motels, the bath towels were just big enough to be bath towels. The bed was comfy enough, and everything that needed to work, like the shower and toilet, worked fine. The counter person was extremely friendly, and very gracious when we needed a little checkout extension. The apples served at the complimentary continental breakfast were very good.
